Isla and y/n were walking down the side road. most of the time, y/n was lost in her own thoughts while the other kept talking about her school matters. when she felt the cold air beside her, she stopped. It brought y/n to reality. "Is something bothering you?"
y/n silently shooks her head and continued to walk ahead. "Is it about not getting chance in the dance club?" isla matched with her pace.
Henry came to them from behind. he probably overheard their past conversation, "How can she still be upset about that...
Im sure its her male partner who brought her down with him. he definitely sucked in dancing-" Jay appeared out of nowhere to pinch him,"What did you say?" the other groaned in pain.
Isla burst out in laugh but it didnt brighten up y/n. she kept walking until a question made her turn around at others, "Where's Miles?"
It simply confused them, "He left early..."
"he probably rushed for his shift in the shop." y/n took in their words and left. without even looking back, she walked to the shop. 'I could use a little work to distract myself' she thought.
to her surprise, the shop's door had the closed sign on it. it didnt bother her as she walked in. the whole place was left empty. she noticed miles's bag on the table. but he was nowhere to be seen. "where is that guy...?"
The door to the back room was open. she heard some strange noises from there. the backroom was always dark and chilling for her. she never dared to enter but the given situation compelled her.
"miles...?" she slowly opened the door and bumped with few empty boxes. without any hesitation she walked further to call out his name. no response was received from the other side.
she soon realized that the room was a mess. things were thrown all over the floor as if someone was there to vent their anger. It scared her on the spot. even before she realize it, she was pushed against the wall.
"what the-" once she opened her eyes, there was a person standing before her. with the little amount of light coming from the faraway door, it was impossible to guess who it was.
but not for her. she felt familliar with the presence. "miles... what are you doing...?" he had his arms wrapped around her which made it harder for her to break free.
"I....cant do this...anymore-" he said in his hoarse voice. it was evident how much he cried in the past hour. "what happened...?"
any other person would've pushed him away but y/n didn't. she gently patted him in the back. for some reason, she could tell what he's going through. "It's all right.Im here for you." he began to sob in her shoulder as she stood still.
there was no response in miles's action. he looked up into her eyes and further stared.
y/n wanted to comfort him the way he did to her in the past. the next time she looked up, she searched for sorrow and misery in him but found none. instead, his eyes were full of fondness for her.
It continued until he leaned closer to her. she could feel his breath on her face as they closed in.
Miles was clearly not in his right state. his mind has taken him into the past as he mistook y/n as someone else. however the current situation did not want to stop him. they leaned further until they were an inch away from each other.
suddenly, she heard him taking a step back. she opened her eyes and faced him while he stood there with the most undescribable expression. he was back to his senses but failed to believe what he had done. "miles,...what happened to you?"
"Im sorry." with it being his last words, he ran away from her.
