Wolfe woke up with a searing migraine, spreading out from the centre of his eyebrows to the rest of his head. An eerie silence seemed to block his ears from the chaos around him. It was as if the silence was inside his skull - filtering out the voices and echoes. He sat up on the soft bed he had been sleeping on, surrounded by multitudes of similar beds, all occupied by other students he barely knew.
"You're finally awake. That's good. Confirm your identity for us so we can send you to Raegar please."
Wolfe lifted his hand to his head as the pain pulsed. The silence that seemed to clog his ears now suddenly escaped, parading his senses with commotion and overloading his mind. The migraine only grew worse as time went on, but Wolfe managed to answer the nurse. The nurse ticked his name off a list, and sent him ahead.
