Chapter 1 - Meeting In The Back Alley

It had rained some while ago but the azure blue sky was as clear as the crystals on show some streets away. The wind was frosty and cold, clearly indicating the start of the winter season. The sky and the wind felt pure and beautiful maybe because, they knew a while later, a fountain of scarlet would smother the dusty and earthly grounds and dye the whole alley, a deep and cunning carmine red.

Vroom... Came the sound of a car parking somewhere nearby.

Whoosh....Thud... Someone, wearing pitch-black clothes, came out of the car.

Kachick...Kachick... That person, who looked around 28, seemed to be trying to light a cigarette. They took of the mask, they were wearing and put the lit cigarette in their mouth.

Tip....tap...tap.... That person walked into a narrow alleyway.

Bzzzt....Bzzzzt.....Bzzzt.....Beep.... "The plan has been sent to you. We revised it a bit. You may improvise the plan further if you need but notify us one last time before putting it into action. You are allowed to take things into your own hands if the plan fails. Other than that, you are forbidden to take any further action than required. Understood?"

"Of Course! No need to get so serious, now. You know very well how much trust your superior has in me. We wouldn't want him to think I'm irresponsible and carefree, would we? Eh, Sandra?" Said the person dressed in black.

"I'd prefer you call Ms. Winterwood. Also, don't overestimate yourself and don't do whatever you want to do. This is an important mission and the plan is made for you to follow so you can avoid as much trouble as possible, Mr. Hudson. You'd better do your job right if you want to continue bragging about my superior's trust in you." If you were the one the with this phone one your ear listening to her, you could probably feel it heat up as Sandra grew angrier.

"Hey, cool down. I was just .... beep.... beep.... Hello? Wait, did she just hang up on me?"

After putting his phone back into the back pocket of his black pants, he took another one out of the pocket in his jacket along with a gold chip which was about the size of his fingernails.

"Hmmm.... Okay. Let's see. Nothing too crappy to ditch. Guess I'll follow the plan if I can."

He walked up to an apartment in the alleyway, observed it for a few minutes and then, just leaned on the wall opposite to it in a way that his shoulder was facing the flat, all the while holding onto his phone.

He stood there for a while, lost in his thoughts, then swiftly and gently taped on his shoulder, in a way that it could almost not be seen.

Just then, he felt a chill up his spine, as though, he was being watched from behind. He immediately turned around.

He could see no one but, he was sure there was someone there hiding in the shadows.

"Come out, before I get serious." He spoke in a low and calm tone.

No response.

"I said, come out." His tone was still low but, this time more authoritative.

Still no response.

"Come out, now!!" His tone became threatening but, still low, terrifyingly low.

"Of Course. No need to get so serious, now." Came a voice from the shadows.

Tip....Tap... A pair of black shining eyes came into view, sending another chill up his back.

Tap.... With a scary but captivating smile, a girl wearing a simple scarlet blouse which perfectly complimented her coffee brown skin, and black denim jeans with shining black boots.

"Who are you?" He asked the dark-chocolate haired girl.

"Oh, I am sorry. I'm just a passerby. I just stopped and watch because it was suspicious seeing such a handsome guy observing such an unimportant place. And, by the way you are acting I suppose you didn't coincidently find this place and it looked like the best place to stay at as you were searching for a home." Said the girl.

'Ah... I guess this might take a while.' Thought the man.
