the tornado was huge and was pulling the fire type magic particles from all over the city causing panic among the cultivators.
they all focused on the huge phenomenon occurring over the palace training grounds and wondered who was undergoing such heaven defying trial, and how strong are they.
two names appeared in everyone's mind at once, lady aster and princess faes. those two were strongest and could be the only ones who can undergo such a trial. lady aster is known to have telekinesis and teleportation, while princess faes powers are a mystery but their spies have sensed that she seem to have space magic.
but the trial was focused more on fire attribute.
this confused the cultivators regarding the identity of the trail taker.
they all saw the lightening bolts fall one by one, each stronger than the last until only one remained.
the last lightening called upon a fire tornado big enough to cover the sky above the city but condensed to focus on only one place.
the bolt together with the tornado descended and an explosion occurred causing tremours all over the city.
the common citizens quickly ran for their lives while the cultivators focused on the place the lightening fell. wanting to know who it was.
"sister faes?" alex and nia who were closest to faes felt the shockwave first hand. they immediately fell down, throwing a mouthful of blood.
but they were quick to recover, taking one of the recovery pills faes made and they were stabilized, they quickly focused on the place faes was undergoing the trial.
the place was covered with dust and smoke, the smell of something burning still hanging in the air.
the dark clouds began to disperse letting the sunlight fall over the city again, and dust begin to settle, revealing an empty ground burnt black.
nia and alex paled as they searched for faes but she had vanished from the place.
nia felt tears in her eyes as she fell on her knees, wondering if faes was dead or just went to her space to hide from the last bolt.
nia glanced at alex who was still trying to search for a clue regarding faes
"brother, do you think she-"
"she is alive" alex shook his head but his tone was uncertain.
just then sky appeared in front of them smiling calmly
"sister faes is safe, she would be back once she is done stabilizing her cultivation and calming her compensation. she is currently in mystic fog castle and sent me to tell you not to worry" saying that sky vanished again leaving alex and nia there stunned and relieved.
they were content knowing faes was safe, she would soon come back once she was fine.
just as alex and nia were about to leave they heard footsteps and noticed a large group of people appearing towards them.
including their parents.
"alex, nia are you alright?" augustus and Alicia frowned when they noticed blood flowing from alex and nia's mouth.
"we are fine" nia spoke as they wiped the blood that they had forgotten to clean in order to search for faes.
"what was the cause of that phenomenon? who was undergoing that trial?" augustus asked but he had an inkling in his heart already about who it might be
"that was just a cultivation trial, a friend of mine broke through and went through the compensation" nia whispered but augustus and Alicia heard her and understood what she meant.
"where are they?" alicia asked worried
"they went to rest and stabilize their situation in their place. they are safe and will return soon"
the royal family sighed in relief while the others frowned in confusion. they could not understand what the royals were talking about?
but they clearly knew the person who underwent the trial and that whoever it were, they are currently fine.

faes was not fine. she felt hot, as if she was still being burnt. currently she was sitting in her bathtub after filling it with ice type magic crystals. but even they were being melt and vaporised thanks to her high body temperature.
when the tornado and lightening entered her body, she felt her whole body being melted. not burned or roasted but melted as if she was made of wax.
the tornado then together with the mana storm went over to reform her body while the lightening bolt went directly to her soul burning and rebuilding it.
faes felt the agony and barely remained conscious throughout the process, just when that ended faes entered mystic fog castle.
her servants quickly helped her to cover herself up, as she was naked. but her compensation was awaken, the heat and high temperature caused them unable to come near her. thankfully she didn't go on a killing spree and just felt like she was still being burnt.
but in real her temperature was slowly dropping.
elijah thankfully being a fire dragon who was also a strong cultivator helped her to get to her room without being burnt while sky and others helped her filled the tub with water.
the water was boiled and evaporated instantly.
even ice melted right after touching her.
in the end they had to use condensed magic crystals to lower her temperature. after an hour of soaking in ice crystals faes finally felt like she was just suffering from normal fever and not being burnt alive.
she turned to sky and others who were staring at her with concerned gazes and nodded
"thank you for helping me, i fell better now." faes was telling the truth, she could feel her compensation decreasing but she also felt empty, she missed kai.
if he was here she could have cuddled with him. she really need to find other parts of his soul and soon, before his soul would vanish from her body.
"sister faes why do you seem weak? as if your cultivation broke down?"
