"what is your compensation?" faes asked seriously "what method did you use to overcome it"
kai stared at her for a while without replying making faes frown
"my compensation-" kai spoke when faes was going to ask about it again. faes immediately kept quiet noticing that kai was lost in his thoughts
"it was not something known. i experienced different symptoms every time i encountered my compensation but they all were deadly. the most common i experienced was for my emotions to be sacrificed and for me to kill" kai spoke and fell silent again. they both stayed hugging each other before faes shifted
"what is the other method you spoke about? was it the one you used to overcome your compensation?"
faes was curious but she did not want to hurt kai. he already seem tense due to the talk regarding the compensation and asking him more would merely awake his memories. faes was sure they weren't pleasant anyways!
"the other method, are you sure you want to know about it?" kai asked instead one of his hands trailing up her back to her nape making her shudder as his cold fingers touched her bare back through the backless dress.
faes gulped at his actions, she actually was still processing their kiss. it was her first kiss in both her lives, but it wasn't as kai merely used it as a medium to absorb her energy. she was confused but it felt good at the same time. kai was still a soul fragment, he wasn't even a complete soul so their kiss should not be valid.
"i want to know" faes wanted to know. she wanted to know everything about kai, including all his hardships and actions. but she couldn't, as there weren't many who knew kai and he was well over centuries old.
"very well" kai sighed as he closed his eyes. faes watching him for a few moments before he opened his eyes again.
he seem to have been preparing himself, wondering how much to tell her and how much to hide. but in the end, he decided to share some experiences with her instead of speaking about them.
kai cupped her hair and pulled her face closer to his in another kiss shocking faes. he closed his eyes as his lips moved against hers forcefully. faes was stunned at first but then she began to lose herself again. this time kai did not pull her energy in him but rather return the absorbed energy back to her and it was wreaking havoc in her body.
faes tried to pull away but her body didn't cooperate as it leaned closer to kai deepening the kiss. after struggling for a while mentally faes felt her consciousness blur and decided to let go.
once she stopped struggling her powers took control and her eyes began to turn red.
kai tugged at her hair making her gasp from sudden action and open her mouth allowing him to enter it. kai's tongue invaded her mouth and tangled with her own fighting for dominance. faes wrapped her arms around his neck moving closer and bit his lips. they kissed until faes was out of breath and her eyes were half red already.
her powers were going out of control but they also seem to not hurt kai at the same time. kai leaned back, laying on the bed as he pulled faes with him still straddling him. faes was panting as she supported herself by placing her hands on either side of his head.
"my method to deal with my compensation depended on the timing. if i am around my allies then i would first try to calm my powers, if that doesn't work then i would ask someone to drain me of energy until i can barely stay awake. if i am surrounded by enemies then i let the compensation take over. it left me in a mess but after a while they calm down themselves though it has a massive side effect.
there is also another method to deal with it. that is to transfer your untamed energy into another being and kill them afterward. but to transfer the energy the two need an intimate connection, similar to what we are doing but intense" kai spoke as he watched faes stare at him before grinning and turning them around so that faes was pinned below him, her legs still wrapped around his waist
kai leaned down and whispered in faes ears as she felt her consciousness drift away from her body
"if you pass out or black out while undergoing compensation, it would still take over your body and it would consume your consciousness completely making it extremely difficult for you to stay alive. stay conscious while undergoing compensation always" kai bit her earlobe bringing her back from losing her consciousness thanks to the pain.
faes could barely hear and understand kai at this point but she still listened to him and forced herself to stay conscious.
"compensation could last for a few minutes to until your death. the stronger your soul is the less time a compensation stays."
kai continued speaking as he kissed a spot behind her ear making her moan. her hands tried pulling him in for another kiss but he held them and pinned them to their side grinning.
"and the time it stays makes the person insane bit by bit whether you overcome it or not. at one time you would lose yourself to it eventually"
leaning down he kissed her eyes which were now completely red, followed by her cheeks, trailing downwards on her neck. faes felt warning bells ring in her head but the compensation took over her rendering her helpless. she felt her bloodlust increase, the want to kill was taking over, she wanted to torture someone and laugh at them but she was powerless under kai's grip and his actions.
"until you find someone who love you enough to pull you back" kai spoke as he kissed her on a spot where her neck and shoulder meet making her shudder again. heat raised in her body as he nibbled on the spot.
when faes was about to be completely consumed kai bit her, hard! hard enough to draw blood. faes screamed from the sudden pain but soon felt her body turning calmer. her energy calmed down and her eyes returned to their usual color. her bloodlust also decreased until it was acceptable, all thanks to kai who was sucking at her blood like a vampire. he wasn't absorbing her energy but rather her blood, leaving only pure blood essence in her body.
the blood essence was mixed with a weird power in her body that worked together to tame her energy but it left her tired.
when she was turned numb and her vision blurred again kai let go and licked the wound.
"this is another method but it also have most obvious side effect- formation of a bond between the two parties involved and weakening for a time." kai spoke as he leaned down and kissed her again deeply .
faes tasted blood due to the kiss and felt her already weak body turning weaker as he continued to kiss her.
"don't worry i wont allow you to lose yourself as i did. i would rather die than let you lose"
faes was barely cautious when the door opened.
