after the village chief of the mining village saw the beast that haunted the mines for years he shivered, deep expressions passing in his mind. he felt the aura of the now-dead beast and shivered. he understood now why lots of adventurers died in those mines.
his gaze went to faes and her group respect and reverence filled within it. he just couldn't find himself to think of the two tiny girls killing the legendary beast. it must be those other four people. the village chief nodded to himself as he bowed to the group,
"This village is thankful and indebted to your help. if respected adventurers are free please join the celebration feast tonight. it will be an honour for all of us." the village chief asked as other villagers voiced out their thoughts too.
the village people were innocent and simple beings, those who helped them were good while those who harm them are bad. their thinking was as simple as that. while faes and her group had not only helped them clear the mines of beasts but they had also killed the legendary beast getting rid of the problem permanently. in the future they don't need to worry about their loved ones dying from snake's bite and poison while mining ores and other raw materials.
"please come"
"please join the celebration" many voiced their acceptance while some females also tried to have them join the celebration.
"there will be lots of delicious foods! i will even make my special steak for you" a women said
"don't eat her steak, my pudding is best in the whole world! it can even be eaten with the super sugary syrup"
"my dear you all are so young you should have more rice and meat! don't worry aunty will make everything you want to eat."
at first faes was going to reject their request as she just came here due to curiosity and to earn some money points from the quest. she also have to go to her kingdom as her family was waiting for her but now after the mention of various food items and delicious dishes she instantly changed her mind.
"it will be our honour to join everyone in the celebration if it doesn't affect anyone that is" faes smiled at everyone as the villagers cheered before hurrying away to prepare for the feast.
the village chief then took them to his office.
"respected adventurers you have really saved the mining village this time. i must say the talk we had before the raid was indeed deep and now i the village chief vow to help you in any way i can. in the future the mining village will supply all kind of raw materials and ores and help the world increase its strength. if another calamity erupts like those centuries ago then we will be prepared" the mining village chief told with a determined look on his face.
faes smiled wryly, she had only used that excuse to let the village chief allow them to go to the mines and also to know more about the legendary beast. who thought that the excuse would have this kind of effect. but she cant do anything now and it wasn't hurting anyone.
"i thank you then, i hope in the future the mining village becomes a great ally to us, if village chief ever encounters another problem just contact us. if its in our ability we will help the village in any way we can" faes agreed nodding to the village chief's offer.
"can i ask something? not to offend you but how did the beast end up in that state while all of you seem completely fine? i mean even the adventurers from before died even after going in groups of hundreds but you were only six and so young too?" the chief asked. this question had bugged him ever since he saw them.
"village chief, the beast was indeed strong, even strongest one we have encountered so far. but our young ladies are stronger than it. they defeated it themselves without our aid" eli smiled as he narrated the events with keeping few things hidden.
"what?" the village chief gulped staring at faes and sky as if he had just seen a ghost. no matter how he sees he just couldn't find himself to accept that these two tiny and cute girls have killed a legendary beast by themselves.
"don't get too shocked, our masters have fought legendary beast before and more than once. it wasn't much for them though this one was stronger as it caused miss faes to almost die but due to the pills and potions she recovered fast. we only took ten days to come back because miss faes was recuperating otherwise we had finished the beast in a few hours" ethan added.
it took the village chief few minutes to digest the information. completely recuperating in ten days, killing a legendary beast in few hours! no matter how he saw it he just couldn't find his imagination to run wild.
"then i sincerely thank you again. please accept these gifts from the villagers" the village chief gave faes a pouch which she took not bothering to refuse. checking the contents she found lots of rare and common ores of different kinds, elemental stones of high quality and there were even refinement techniques for ores and some foraging designs.
faes smiled at the village chief "thank you!" with these ores and designs she can begin updating her and sky's weapons finally.
"that's not all, before you defeated the beast, we lost all hope to stay here and were going to leave this place. but now that we can stay here and continue mining i want to give these to you. i hope that you can accept these" the village chief said as he place two things in front of faes.
one was a rope while the other was a tattered scroll. faes scanned them and her eyes widened
[enhanced magical rope
can withstand the force of mortality destroying stage cultivators attack. can be cut using a special method. can be used in foraging and crafting. if formed into a weapon can increase the magic and physical damage.]
[tattered scroll- treasure map]
"these are too precious are you sure you want us to take them?" faes asked
"yes, we can neither use this rope and go on treasure hunting using the scroll. its best that we give them to you" the village chief shook his head. everyone in their village were week and didn't had enough time to use either of the things.
after listening to the village chief faes smiled taking both items.
"then i have to thank you for the generosity." she wasn't going to let these precious things go to waste. after all aiden always said that its good to have important things to themselves instead of letting them rot away in other's hands.
"the celebration will begin at sunset. until then you all can rest. my assistant will escort you to your resting place" the village chief sent faes and her group away with his assistant.
.....
at sunset the original silent and gloomy village was turned into a festive area. music and aroma of food enveloped the whole village centre. the villagers danced and cheered as they welcomed faes and her team
