with the screams stopping, there was pin-drop silence in the room again. everyone held their breaths praying that nothing happens to either of their princesses.
faes and sky though still in pain were not screaming just because the pain was too much for them to make them even speak or scream. they were trying not to loose consciousness due to the pain but faes who knew that it had not ended yet was trying her best to sense what was going on with sky through their bond.

there was some kind of barrier between them now making faes alert but she was not able to move.
suddenly her vision changed and she was lying in another room free from pain. faes blinked and looked around and noticed that it was a throne room with many thrones around her occupied by different people who didn't looked happy to see her.
'ancient spirits?' faes knew who they were thanks to aiden's letter but she still remained alert as she stood up. faes bowed deeply and spoke in a steady voice
despite the nervousness she felt
"greetings to respected elders! this lowly one is known as faes"
faes said. she had noticed that she was in the adult form of her original soul that means she cant hide anything from the ancient spirits. she have to stay careful with her actions and words in order to save both her and sky.
"a human? that too from other world! you dare interfere with the sacred ceremony of the princess sky mani shadowdragon de repriliance?" one of the elder males who looked really old said angrily
"why is your soul connected with princess sky's? did you force her to make contract with you taking advantage of her age and lack of understanding?" another female elder said though she looked old but not much like the old male from earlier.
the other elders also began to voice out their doubts and insults making faes smile wryly at them. 'we are back to this again!'
soon they all stopped waiting for faes to answer them which she did bowing again.
"respected elders this one mean no harm! princess sky is my sister though not by blood. and i didn't interfere with the ceremony to cause her harm but to save her. someone deliberately increased the power of sacred ritual objects and magic circle with intention of hurting princess sky. i had to interfere in order to save her" faes spoke.
"you are from a different world, your body and soul are different! why did you arrive in this world and helped princess sky?" a voice sounded. it was the same female elder from before and she looked like she was leader of the other spirits here.
"i am from a world called as earth where magic is absent. i died and my soul arrived in this world in the body of princess faes monesterio von altai the second princess of kingdom altai. the original princess died while saving his majesty king aiden's eggs." faes said
suddenly there was silence in the whole place as everyone turned to someone behind her. faes felt something wrong and turned to look at who others were looking at. she gasped as she found a familiar face smiling at her.
aiden was seated in a throne smiling at faes who looked like she was about to cry any moment now. he stood up and walked to where faes was standing and gave her a pat on her head like he always did. "you look good even in this form" aiden whispered
faes had told him about her but he haven't seen her original soul so he must be surprised but he still complimented her.
"what she said is true! my two child were killed and the original princess died saving the last child. she had told me about her being from a different world just after waking up. i trained her and taught her about this world after that took her as my daughter!" aiden spoke in a clear and confident voice.
"but that still doesn't answer why she is here! a human should be dead just because of the mana storms formed during the ritual yet not only she can interfere with the ceremony but enter this trial meeting us!" the leader lady spoke again frowning at aiden and faes.
"i am special! i have many powers and objects that help me. including the bloodstone and nightlight" faes said
"you got nightlight?" aiden asked to which faes nodded then frowned 'should she tell him about that shopkeeper?' faes was thinking when aiden whispered
"that shopkeeper is not a friend but someone suspicious. he is one of the strongest commoners who can fight with any noble equally and might even win. you need to be careful with him" aiden whispered to which faes nodded
"he vanished after i took nightlight" faes told him whispering back.
"i leave you to deal with him! i trust you can do it" aiden patted her head then continued "how are others? my brother sister in law and the two boys? how's the kingdom?"
"they are all good and sad knowing about you. we held a funeral for you and i had to turn you and queen nuri's bodies into materials for use because of kai" faes answered lowering her head feeling bad now. 'who would tell a soul that they had turn their body into material for crafting items?' but aiden just shook his head.
"that's what i wanted you to do! kai was correct to make you otherwise you would never move on" aiden explained but this made faes relax finally. it had been bothering her for all this time but now hearing aiden say it made her relax.
"don't whisper to each other this is not a place to discuss matters like that!" the grumpy old male from before hissed making faes and aiden to bow and apologize but they were both smiling and trying not to laugh.
'to think that they had been talking like this was just any other normal day! while surrounded by ancient spirits in between of a trial. sounds just like something aiden would do!'
"now could you both explain to us what is happening in real world so we know why an alien who transmigrated into a human's body is currently standing in the morphing trial for dragons?" the leader lady asked. faes nodded along with aiden. faes was sure that as long as aiden was with her she would not fail! still she would do her best in order to not let aiden down.
aiden and faes both explained the situation in short to the others. after they were done everyone nodded their hostility decreasing with faes.
"you are the child from the prophecy then the would would need you in the future but that doesn't mean that you wont have to give the trial! you still have to pass the test" the leader lady said. faes nodded as she had expected this
"to pass the test you have to complete all the task give to you by us we will be watching and if you fail both you and sky dies!" the leader said.
faes nodded again. aiden patted her head whispering good luck as he went back to his place and sat smiling at the lady sitting near him. the lady gave her a bright smile and mouthed a thank you before faes nodded and turned back to face the leader lady. 'that must be aiden's wife luna and sky's mother! she looked as beautiful as aiden described her' faes thought as she waited for the test.
"this trial will be to test if you are fit to be a dragon princess and are worthy to be a soul contract for the real dragon princess who is blessed by gods. you will had a test for etiquette, character, knowledge, power, magic, and other skills. for passing you must have good grades in them" the lady said just as the surrounding began to turn dark.
a notification appeared in faes vision and made her smile shaking her head.
