faes appeared in her space and sighed. she was not ready to take the scales and other things from aiden and luna's body. she still wasn't comfortable to think that she would have to butcher her own father figure!
faes sat near the fountain staring at the fog trying to think what to do now. she would need to get aiden's blood but she wasn't ready in any case. a hand placed on her shoulder bought her out of her thoughts. startled faes turned to the owner of the hand to find kai sitting near her with a concerned expression.
faes didn't saw or heard him arrive just like always so she calmed down and signed again. she needs to hurry otherwise the people waiting for her would go crazy.
"what's wrong?" kai asked. faes told him about what was bugging her and in the end she sighed again. if only the system can do this work for her!
"is that so!" kai nodded in understanding after listening to her short explanation
"i don't think i can get the necklace or unseal the box! i am not strong enough yet and how can i disassemble my father?" faes said irritated. she was getting frustrated by herself now.
"do you know who was the owner of nightlight before it was found?" kai suddenly asked
"i just know what it is made up of and its name" faes replied shaking her name. she haven't scanned it yet as it wasn't in front of her till now. but when faes saw kai smile she narrowed her eyes. he seem to know something!
faes stared at him waiting for him to continue and soon kai began chuckling watching the big expectation filled eyes curious to know what he was about to say. 'if only she knew!' kai rubbed faes head fondly as he began talking again.
"the nightlight is not much special without the bloodstone. the owner only had it for some time before he lost it in the battle so there isn't much known information about it." kai said
"bloodstone? but how do you know that its not much special without the bloodstone if there isn't much information about it?" faes asked
"because i was its owner!"
faes stared at the smug and proud expression on kai's face for sometime before sighing again. she should have thought it was something related to him! most of the things around her are related to him!
"but it still doesn't solve my problem!" faes said closing her eyes. she suddenly felt tired.
"i had a bloodstone too! along with the nightlight it was a power that can destroy the world if you know how to activate them. i used it to fight the fallen god but in the end i didnt knew how to activate the full power and hence was only able to seal the god away rather than killing him" kai continued
"that just makes it more necessary that i take it and not let it get into wrong hands!" faes already knew that it was lethal but now she felt there was more to it than what she knew. if kai used nightlight in fighting with the fallen god then it just increases the importance of nightlight and if others knew they would turn the world upside down trying to kill and get it for themselves. if they are the fallen god's minions then they were doomed as faes suspected that nightlight might be used to unseal him.
"the bloodstone was embedded in my bracelet i had and you know what? that bracelet was made from my sister's body parts" kai said making faes gasp coming out of her thoughts 'what the hell?!?' faes opened her eyes and turned to kai her mind suddenly blank.
"what?" faes whispered but kai only smiled sadly at her then turned away staring at nothing in front of him.
"my sister was killed by the fallen god in a fight and i also almost died in that fight. she was a half-dragon. though she cant completely turn into a dragon she was able to grow scales on her body. her hair, nails and even skin had magical properties. she was special and gifted but she died saving me! her last wish was for me to use her magic filled body to defeat the god that she died at the hands of." kai said then turned to her his expression serious
"i was also not ready to take them thinking she was my sister but then i realised something roaming around in the streets on day. i saw two kids fighting, the boy snatched a girls toy and broke it. the little girl was crying badly because the toy was given to her by her mother before her death. but the boy just ignored her and left after destroying the toy" kai said,
"but that is wrong of that boy!" faes exclaimed but kai shook his head
"it was indeed wrong but not completely." faes frowned at kai's statement
"why?"
kai turned away again as he continued "the girl wasn't taking good care of the toy or playing with it, she was going to sell it or throw it away to buy a new toy that she liked more. when the boy destroyed the toy she realised that the toy wasn't just an object it was the last gift and an important part of her memory of her mother.
at that time i realised that if i don't care for what i have someone else will take it away and destroy it or waste it" kai turned back to faes
"at that time i realised that my sister wanted me to get stronger and get revenge for her and save the world from getting destroyed. it doesn't matter that it was her body parts i have to take, it was something she gave me as a last gift so that i can have something which i can cherish and not waste letting it into wrong hands or rot in a corner just due to my selfish fear that she was my sister"
kai took faes hand and asked "what do you want? do you want aiden and luna to just stay in that special place or do you want to respect their last wishes and get stronger so that you can take revenge for their deaths? you want to let their bodies go to waste staying there or use their body parts and save the world making them proud?"
faes stared at kai who was serious for the first time and was slightly angry and sad too. faes realised that what kai said was correct and she needs to let go of her affection. it wasn't that she was letting go of aiden but she was respecting his wishes and going to save the world!
"i am going to gather the blood i need" faes said after taking a deep breath as she stared back at kailial's eyes which were already fixed on her. his eyes turned relaxed and went back to their usual playfulness. kai removed faes mask and smiled at her "i expected nothing else from my little princess" he said making faes turn red.
"don't worry i will be here with you always! though i cant help you with it but i can at least give moral support to my little princess" kai had taken a liking to tease faes whenever he can. faes was also used to it by now but he would still make her blush whenever he called her by a nickname or teased her, kai would always give her new nicknames ever since he asked her to call him kai. he had called her little princess, little alien and many more but faes didn't hate it. instead somehow even after listening to him call her different names that she wont allow anyone to call her, she felt good and calm.
when faes was with kai she always told him what was on her mind, what she did and what she thought and learnt. looking at kai's black eyes faes always calmed down and felt a sense of not being lonely anymore.
faes nodded and then along with kai she went to where aiden and luna were. as kai again assured her faes began to collect the blood, scales and other things from aiden and luna's bodies stealing her heart and burying her emotions to respect aiden and luna's wishes.
