Megan let her glasses slip down the bridge of her nose as she peered over the top of them. After a while all the papers she looked at began to run together.
It had been a long day and she'd only been in the office for a few hours. Juliette and Birdy hadn't stopped placing more and more papers into her processing box. She had only been gone one day and her entire side of the office had already gone to hell.
Still looking over the brim of her glasses she looked out through her window across the open floor plan. In a haze of 'efficiency' and 'togetherness' the big boss upstairs had removed all the cubical in favor of long desks and communal space. She thanked her lucky stars that she had been promoted before that shit show went down.
Megan had never shared her space well, and as a fully grown woman it was unlikely that she was going to change. In all aspects, she liked her way and avoided all situations that might arise in which the outcome was unclear.
Her phone buzzed on her desk, drawing her attention back down. A single message from July read: "Same time?"
Yes. Megan demanded perfection and absolutes in all things, all things except for this one piece.
