Alex was disappointed from the battle, but he couldn't expect more from just a Magikarp, he check Croagunk stats but the battle didn't even provide it with enough EXP to level up, sighing Alex took up the Magikarp but it was surprisingly a little bit heavy but he could still manage Alex and Croagunk then walked back to the cave wanting to put the Magikarp in a safe place for later use, well the only purpose it served was just to eat.
but that couldn't be because they didn't have a fire and they couldn't eat it raw, well Croagunk could since he had to eat to survive, but Alex couldn't, he had thought about making a fire with sticks or rocks but not predicting this scenario, he had never practiced in the art but know that he thought about it he should have practiced for it could have been useful on his journey.
They eventually made it to the cave and placed the Magikarp behind some rocks at the back they then made their way back to the lake to continue practicing they came back to the cave when it was appearing to become night and then slept.
The next morning
Alex:"That was a rough sleep still cold as ever."
Alex got up and started to stretch after he was done he looked around to see if Croagunk was still sleeping, but surprisingly he was not there, worried Alex started calling for Croagunk but there was no answer he walked out of the cave and called but still he received no answer he ran back to the lake as fast as he could.
When he finally arrived he could see Croagunk under the water swimming after one of the Magikarp, sighing in relief Alex called out for Croagunk, Croagunk hearing the call of its name from its trainer quickly swam up to the surface and jumped onto land.
"Croagunk! what were you thinking you know you could have gotten hurt!" Alex said in slight rage.
The Croagunk looked down in shame.
"Maybe I should'nt have been so have on him since there just Magikarps and he could he himself in the water". Alex Thought seeing Croagunk's sad face.
Alex Thoughts:"But that doesn't mean he couldn't have gotten hurt some of them may have been close to evolving since Pokemon with higher potential level up faster, and there was one Magikarp in there that was Purple tier."
Alex Thoughts:"On a side note maybe I should catch of defeat that one since when Magikarp evolve they tend to go on a rampage due to the sheer power they receive upon evolving.
Alex Thoughts:"Speaking of which, I should check if Croagunk gained any levels from the fight "Scan"

Alex Thoughts:"Wow two levels only from Magikarps."
Alex looked at Croagunk, just to see that he was surrounded by 4 Magikarps.
While he wasn't paying attention Croagunk went back into the lake to get the Magikarps that he had defeated, to please his trainer.
Alex, realizing his motive, slowly walked towards him and Croagunk appear to be getting nervous, when Alex was close to him Croagunk thought that he was going to hit him, and braced for impact.
But it never came instead Croagunk felt a hand on top of his head.
Alex:"I was never angry at you Croagunk I was just worried, just don't go running of like that again ok you nearly gave me a heart attack."
Croagunk, seeing the worry in it's trainer's eye, started to respect it's trainer more, he had saved him off of his own free will, when he never had to.
Alex:"Well time for breakfast I guess."
Alex took some Oran Berry from his pocket, gave one to Croagunk and they both started eating, while they were eating Alex decided on what he believed to be a somewhat of a foolproof plan for his living stile, at least for now."
They would get up in the morning, eat, practice, battle Magicarps, then see if they can find anymore berries.
This cycle would continue until Croagunk was at least level 14 since he believed that was a reasonable level.
then he would see if they could defeat the Joltiks, since the berries were closer to the lake, in case they ran out of berries since he couldn't start a fire.
Alex:"Well, let's get started."
