Chapter 1 - Prologue

three years ago...

Like most brides on their wedding day, Naomi was nervous about the whole thing...her body slightly with her heartbeat fast and with an uneasy and loudly echoing into her right ears; her fingers twiddled with her big sad bright blue eyes quickly studied her surroundings-she was in a rather open in her family's manufactural beach house some a few miles from the coastal city of Hirono, Iwate Japan...it was pretty modest compared to the family's other vacation homes and especially their main home in Tokyo."...you look splendid Nicchan dear."Naomi's mother Endo Mitsuki told her daughter with a smile that gave off a slight air of intimidation, Naomi shyly blushed at her mother's compliment...the young bride's cheeks flushed a bright reddish-pink and nodded sheepishly,"...thank you, mother...does my dress look ?" the little girl asked slightly anxious as she lightly lifted her the frilled edges of her wedding dress

Mitsuki did her best to counsel and comfort her daughter-the woman immediately sat down on the king-sized mattress bed of her daughter's bedroom...she smiles shyly with her right hand gently on the soft-cushion like mattress; Naomi instinctively understood and almost immediately and walks over to the bed, the girl carefully shifted the frills of her wedding dress as she sat down beside her mother with the woman giving an encouraging smile with a slight twinkle in her deep, deep violet eyes which seemed to look right through her daughter's own bright sapphire eyes...her gaze steady and holding a certain warmth and gentleness that Naomi had only seen about once or twice in her young life."Naomi?"Mitsuki asked in a sweet-motherly tone of voice that seemed to calm the young bride's shakey nerves."yes mother-"the girl answered flatly with her voice almost sounding robotic tone."...what is wrong?" she asked half unaware and with a slightly naive smile.

Naomi's mother soon held her close-the warmth radiating off her body as she carefully lowered her head and gently kissed her daughter's forehead...her lips moist as they pinched together and gently pressed Naomi's little forehead."...I'm so sorry Naomi...I told Riku...I told him that he shouldn't force you to do this...oh Nicchan I-I-"Naomi gently held her mother with her arms lightly squeezing her thin waist."...it's ok mother." the little girl lied as her eyes began to water as well...both mother and daughter tenderly embraced and had spent a good half of that night until Naomi had cried herself to sleep and her mother had taken the liberty to underdress her sleeping daughter.

Mitsuki gently cupped her daughter's right cheek with a wry smile as tears once again flood her already puffy eyes-she hummed a lullaby that only she and her daughter knew before finally leaving the room making sure to turn off the light before gently shutting the door behind her.

three weeks later...

As Naomi slowly walked down the white tarped wedding ail with her right arm gently wrapped around her father's wrist; Endo Riku looked down at his daughter-who was smiling weakly underneath the thin veil of her wedding dress...even though her face was slightly obscured by the wedding veil, Endo Riku was not the type of man to get all choked up to teary-eyed at weddings...but as they slowly walked down the ail both father and daughter share a silent yet heartfelt feeling of affection."Endo san, Nicchan."Naomi's all too soon-to-be husband Haruno Daisuke...a man that had to be no more than a few years older than Riku, who was in his mid-forties."...Daisuki sama."Naomi's father greeted him back with the lukewarm courtesy of a businessman in the middle of an important transaction...but that was not how Naomi saw it...no to her this was a major betrayal by her parents...both her father and mother-her father for forcing this marriage and her mother for not fighting harder to stop it from happening, though admittedly more so at her father than her mother, who at least tried to comfort her.

The whole wedding went by relatively fast...with Naomi trying her best not to cry or seem in any way that upset about the whole thing-a task that would be a great difficulty for most other ten years old girl in her situation would be...but Naomi had always known that something like this possibly would happen to her soon or later.

Naomi tightly hugged her mother goodbye,"...take good care of yourself Nicchan."Mitsuki almost whispers as tries to cry." I will mother...promise!" the young girl says with tears glistening in her sapphire blue eyes-Naomi shyly waves goodbye to her mother and father.
