The dökkálfar were not exactly nocturnal but rather light-sensitive. The skin tone and photosensitivity varied depending on the tribe of dark elf but each and every one had eyes sensitive to the light. With how the dark elves naturally had night-vision and could see into the infrared spectrum, even the half-light of dawn or dusk was too much for them.
It was high summer currently and the Basilea region, of which Mecane formerly was a part of just a few decades ago, tended to have picturesque blue skies during this season. Only the coastal areas suffered from storms.
