They were learning a lot of how deep Aleister Octavian was as an occultist—which was very deep and probably qualifying as a warlock with his dabbling in Obitus Energy. But it was not something Mattheus wasn't already aware of from the grimoire he possessed that belonged to the warlock Roswell.
On the other hand, Mattheus couldn't exactly ask or even bring up Roswell's estate and his paternal grandfather. Aleister Octavian was right there, possessing all the answers to that little mystery, but even vaguely bringing it up would bring the occultist's guard up.
