Marcus felt his hands first. He slowly tried moving them. To his luck they responded slowly he wriggled his fingers and tried opening his eyes. He was feeling great right then no headache or any dizzyness even his apparent wound from when the bear slammed him into a tree was healed. After some thought, he attributed this to the appearance of the Anantra.
He remembered what she said about the system.
He tried opening it without even much ado an interface appeared. It was his imagination of interface but that did not stop him from looking at it almost as if it was in front of him.
Even with his eyes closed, he was able to view the interface backgrounded by the weird colourful darkness that comes when one closes their eyes.
It showed like this.

Advice from Loki: The System won't help you much in regards to your individual power. But, I want you to be capable of creating a resistance against the incoming Demonic Invasion. You can't fight it alone. So, obtain capable subordinates and allies and share the burden.
Look out for Fate Bearers they are intertwined with the fate of Anantra. They might be Good, Bad or Ugly but their Help can make your struggle a lot easier. Either make them your allies or subordinates. If keeping them neutral is not possible, eliminate them before they cause trouble to you.

It took him a minute to carefully read everything making sure nothing missed his notice.
He wanted to think over all the contents but time was of the essence. He tried feeling his surrounding it was rocky and the howling of the wind was quite audible. His mind weaved an answer.
'This must be a cave. The sound must be from the wind passing'.
Then he got reminded of something. 'Shit! I should have used chaos energy and finished this beast off in a single strike!'. But within few seconds he realized lamenting now would do him nothing but waste his precious time. But he heard and felt tremors of a large body walking on all fours. He knew the number due to the training Marco made him go through with recognizing the sounds.
The pads softened the steps but the sound was inevitable due to the immense body which almost reached a medium-sized elephant. He tried his best not to open his eyes and alarm the Beast. He acted as if he was dead hoping that would save him. But somewhere deep down he felt that all the stories he read about two friends and a bear were fake.
Too bad he jinxed himself. The bear came to him and sniffed at him, his eyelids were moving due to the movements his eyeballs were making. He tried his best to stay in the pose. He even stopped breathing. But his heartbeat did not go unnoticed.
The bear took few steps back and roared out loud it resounded through the cave many times.
Marcus maintained his state of apparent death out of fear suspecting this to be a ploy by the bear to jolt him awake.
Seeing this the bear's anger reached its zenith. This time without even hesitating it spewed a flame from its mouth along with a violent roar towards the top. Marcus he knew the heat was slowly increasing the ceiling of the cave might even melt and fall on him.
He immediately rolled to his left. But too bad he opened his eyes a tad bit later and didn't notice the natural wall of the cave blocking his movement. The moment his body hit the wall he sprang up onto his legs and reached for his dagger. He felt truly happy when he felt it still there he had kept it back when he understood it was a futile effort. But, his idiocy for not thinking about the chaos energy has baffled him to no end.
The spot where the bear spewed fire over began to act like the source of light here.it was glowing red illuminating everything around.
Given the situation, he was willing to kill this bear even with the price being his own life.
He assumed a stance with his dagger in his right hand and front and left hand just in front of his chest.
He knew fighting a giant bear with a dagger felt as ridiculous as cooking spaghetti in a bathtub.
He had no choice.
He concentrated on the bear waiting for it to make the move. Once it made the move he felt like he could get into its range with his skills after avoiding its initiative. But, the bear did not move he felt something was wrong. Then he realised there was no killing intent emitting from the bear only sadness and worry.
He felt weird. Somehow the bear was able to make him feel for it. He suspected it to be some sort of mind tricking or hypnotising magic. But he did not let his guard down.
Right then the bear made a gesture with its head. It moved it continuously towards the deeper parts of the caves. It was as if it wanted him to follow into the deeper parts of the cave.
Marcus felt apprehensive at first. He also knew that if it wanted to hurt him he would have already been excrement somewhere in the forest. He also came across information that the higher level beasts have better intelligence than many animals. So, he knew it was giving him a cue on something. The bear moved first towards the deeper part it took a few steps and stopped and turned its head back towards him as if it was asking him to follow it. Marcus weighed his choices the last thing he wanted now is to offend a higher level beast who is probably willing to negotiate. He sheathed his knife back and followed its lead.
The cave was deeper than he imagined it even had multiple branches as they went deeper. the darkness haunted it to its depths And there were few puddles of water here and there he suspected them to be from the rainwater that flowed through the cave into deeper regions and maybe even an underground river.
The deeper they went the more spooky Marcus felt judging that there were no signs of water stagnation even after moving a kilometre inside the cave his initial suspicion proved itself to be correct. Sound of water flowing increased in intensity as they were moving. Marcus kind of knew that the bear was intentionally keeping up with him. Then a stream of water greeted them.
the bear took initiative realising that Marcus can't see in the darkness. he spewed his fire over a spot and stayed in the suit for a dozen seconds. But this time it glowed yellow. Marcus knew this meant the bear used much more energy than it used previously in the forest or in the outskirts of the cave. and it did not mean them ill by kidnapping.
'seems like there is something it needs me for it is not treating me like food'.
he observed the surroundings more carefully.
in from of him was a stream. In the middle of it was a bear with a bloated stomach. its body was brown, unlike the Black bear that escorted him here. Which meant it was a Brown rock bear which excelled in the usage of earth and rocks. Looking closely fumes were coming from it. The flowing water in the stream was acting like a coolant on it but the heat in its body was turning the water into vapour just by contact. He got the gist of it just by looking at the situation.
'This should be his pregnant mate'.
the conclusion presented itself in his mind his thoughts reached all the subjects he ever read and remembered.
Although he did not witness the elemental interactions over each other in terms of beasts, magic and aura he knew from reading books that occasionally when species of different elemental attributes mate which is an extremely rare scenario taking into account that they don't even get along in first place. The result would be a baby with either one or two attributes of the parents Albeit separately.
This means if we take the current scenario into account a child between a black flame bear and brown rock bear would be able to breathe and control fire or manipulate rocks and earth or both if it is lucky. But there is a special case where the child born is the amalgamation of the elemental attributes i.e air and water would give rise to cyclone and earth and fire giving birth to magma or lava.
Immediately it struck Marcus 'this is the birth of an amalgamate of earth and fire elemental beings and their essences. Those of higher level give out higher reaction making it unstable but what I am seeing is not described in books they never said the reaction would be this aggressive. they always described the process of incubation as painful but not torturous'.
He felt something was wrong. Although he did not witness many supernatural effects in this world. He did his homework. Despite the severe lack of academic resources at the castle of Corinth.
Whatever books there were already enough to compete with a small city's public library where the quantity prevailed quantity. And few of the books were from his recent ancestor's prized collections.
Marcus was scratching his head over what to do he was not a master healer or physician.
In his predicament, the Black flame bear nudged him towards the stream. When he was confused over the reason the bear was pushing him ahead when they already reached their destination. He noticed that the cave has not ended there was still a path ahead of them. This time there were no branches, only one. Marcus did not know what to speculate from this. But he also noticed that this entrance was much smaller. A giant bear-like it can't possibly fit in it. It was enough for a couple of big humans but not the bear. He understood that the bear wants him to go deeper without company. And whatever inside is most probably the cure for his mate's and his child's predicament.
