After one month.
Marcus was completely recovered. But he didn't know what he should do about the semi-useful info dump that Loki did on him last month. Due to the mess the chaos energy did to his body. Marcus was bedridden for almost a week. After that, he was able to move around the castle lightly. Meanwhile, Leon and Mona were moved into the keep both of them were given their rooms.
And both of them attended to him in their break times as Leon was admitted into the beast guard as the helper. As for Mona, his mother forced her into studying. She wanted to make her a merchant. Seeing her argue with one of the maids at keeping about something Carla's merchant instinct kicked in and deduced that this girl would make an excellent merchant if trained properly. Although Arlo argued that making her an advocate would be better. But, he was unable to win over Carla's arguments. So, he gave in at last. Unlike Leonardo who was one cold dumbfuck Mona was quite pleasant to spend time with. She naturally gave those cute little sister vibes right from the start and Marcus being Marcus who is sensitive to people's emotions knew that she was as pure as 24-carat gold. Leonardo was slowly starting to come to terms with Marcus he could not sense the humongous hostility anymore. And one more discovery startled him, that is Leonardo hates every single soul in this world with the same intensity as what he felt in their first interactions exceptions being Mona, Carla and himself although the cynicism never really disappeared in his case. Marcus could sense Leon's respect increase like thousand fold towards his father after he joined the beast guard.
As for Marcus, he started doing exercises in his room when no one was seeing and he read a lot of books to absorb knowledge and common sense of this world. But the keep can only contain so many books, and being the bookworm he was in his previous life. The so-called books in the keep were made of thick enchanted beast skin where one book can hardly contain 50 pages worth of printed information while being larger than a Brittanica encyclopedia.
There were many sorts of subjects from navigating to hunting techniques. And the geography of the Greivaris continent.
It says there are 4 Kingdoms,2 Empires,8 Duchies and 6 city-states. The average size of a Duchy is around a hundred thousand square kilometres. While a kingdom has more than 500 thousand square kilometres. And anything larger than an area of million square kilometres is empires. And the Ingrassia is the largest Empire in Greivaris and the most powerful hegemon spanning an area equivalent to 3million square kilometres. Frain is the second-largest empire although they are quite weak when compared to Engrassia but quite strong when compared to any other individual countries and they have what it takes to defend against half the continent excluding Engrassia.
The politics are always tight in between all the countries and all of them have a considerable figure backing them be it a mythological creature or mages or warriors who can fight toe to toe with those mythological creatures. Many countries in the past have disappeared within narrow spans due to the demise of their guardian. Few more intelligent ones submit to either of the two hegemons. While there exists the third kind who ally themselves with other kingdoms or duchies to form an alliance that guarantees mutual protection.
Marcus understood by then that the son of Loki Fenrir is locked in the Noman's valley. Due to his occasional resonance in that direction after gaining the imprint and chaos energy from Loki.
He tried on occasions to activate the imprint to activate the chaos energy in his body but he never lasted more than a couple of seconds. Although he felt like he could persist and achieve more time than a mere few seconds, he instinctively understood that after reaching the time limit of three seconds his body would be damaged with the gradual overdose of chaos energy. But, thanks to all the pain he went through at the starting of the transmigration, he was able to persist the pain which was a good thing since this can be used effectively as a last resort method.
Although the only effect the chaos energy brings him now is a great increase in strength where in that two seconds he can even beat the world record for fastest punch or weight lifting after he lifted his kingsize bed his muscles ached as if they were torn apart. During this period he also learnt that every living being in this world has a core like a nucleus to a cell at first it only exists in pseudo form but after achieving a certain amount of strength. They start to materialize. But for many of the sentient beings like humans, elves, dwarves, the core remains pseudo throughout their life.
There was so much knowledge he gained in that month it would take chapters and chapters to completely materialize.
Once his father caught him reading late into the night, that day he said.
"Marcus our ancestors hid a lot of treasures all over the country when they were removed from their positions as it was quite difficult for a baron level entity to maintain a lot of treasures. Only someone from the Wargrave bloodline can open them. There are even libraries buried somewhere in the country that has forbidden knowledge and documents gained throughout our family's history. I hope you will become strong enough one day to recover them and also retain them."
Marcus maintained his schedule of exercising, reading and going through the torture of the chaos energy twice a day. He maintained it as his life depended on it at the end of the month he was as good as new his strength improved greatly from his previous lousy self. He never felt this energetic in his whole life either on earth or in Anantra. He then understood the reason the gym maniacs work out every day. When he saw his muscles slightly forming in his arms, he felt what might be pure ecstasy because this was the first-ever time he had some muscle in him, in his previous life he was a skinny bum. He always reads his novels and minds his own business. But now he could imagine living this life to its fullest.
After the month ended his father had him come to his study and said with his usual cold voice
"From tomorrow you are expected to be in the training grounds sharp 5 in the morning".
