Chapter 100 - chapter 100

while driving he asked "do you want us to go out for dinner later in the evening?". hmm Camilla thought for a few seconds before replying "dinner is ok with me" she responded with a smile. "ok then I will come pick you up at exactly half past six" Camilla nodded and was in a good mood.

Back home, Mrs Shaw was in the living room watching her favorite opera on TV, with a glass of wine on the side table. While she was enjoying herself, Mr Shaw came in, walked to the couch and sat beside her.

"why is it that you haven't asked for any money from me concerning Camilla's up keep and tuition fee?" Mr Shaw asked. Mrs Shaw smirked "you didn't want her to continue with school saying that it was a waste of money because she failed her first two semesters am I right?".Mr Shaw turned his head away and looked elsewhere "don't worry about my daughter, she settled all her bills with her own efforts. since she has a father who doesn't care" Mrs Shaw said mockingly.

"can't you see that she's not going to school to learn but just to show face! that's why she couldn't even pass her first two semesters, what makes you think she will pull through this year? if school is what she wants, she must learn because she wants to, not because she's scared of being the laughing stock of others or because she doesn't want to feel left out, she must have a dream to achieve her goal with the course she's pursuing but your daughter doesn't have any dream" Mr Shaw stressed out his point hoping his wife would understand.

Mrs Shaw sneered "you see how you belittle your own daughter? you don't want to support her yet you want to see the best results from her, what is wrong with you? we both can see that she's trying, she really is trying".Mrs Shaw said in her daughter's defense.

"what is she trying with?tell me? you encouraged your brother to marry off his daughter to a rich suitor saying she wouldn't do well in school but where is fortune now, tell me? she passed with flying colors and cleared her first two semesters at ease and is now in her second year and your daughter?

"shut up! Mrs Shaw yelled she couldn't bare to hear anything more "everything is about that Fortune, must you always want to compare Fortune with our daughter? Fortune this, Fortune that, Fortune, Fortune, Fortune, just stop it! before she could say anything else, her phone rang interrupting her next words. She looked at the caller ID and saw that it was her daughter, speaking of the devil, she swiped and answered her phone. " Mom, how are you?" Camilla spoke cheerfully "Mom is fine dear, how are things for you that side? do you have enough food? I mean how are you managing?" Mrs Shaw asked in a concerned voice. "Mom do I still look like a young girl to you? do you know that I spent almost three thousand dollars on my shopping today?" Mrs Shaw was stunned, she stood up and quickly walked to her room leaving her husband seated on the couch, she had to hear the details of where her daughter got all this money from. "Mom, hello, are you still there?" Mrs Shaw just closed her bedroom door and answered "tell me where did you get all that money from? do you know that your father is worried about you because he refused to give you any money for school? now his wondering how you are managing because he was hoping you wouldn't manage and end up coming back home".

Camilla smirked, "oh please, so now his worried? let him take his worries elsewhere, what a father, I don't need him".

"his your father after all, now tell me where you got such large amount of money from" Mrs Shaw was curious. Camilla who was busy removing her new clothes from the bags smiled "well Mom, let's just say I will have a rich boyfriend soon. I mean I'm not yet his girlfriend and he spoilt me like this, wow I hope he asks me to be his girlfriend soon" Camilla was not shy talking about this with her Mom, she was going to be 22 soon so it wasn't a big deal.

Mrs Shaw's eyes lit up she couldn't believe it "you are not yet his girlfriend and he spent so much on you?" Camilla smiled "yes Mom, for now you don't have to worry much about my up keep but you have to clear my fees for the next semester. once everything between me and him is perfect, I don't think you will have to pay for my tuition fees anymore"

"that's great news ,I knew my daughter was so capable, I'm so proud of you my darling. enjoy yourself to the fullest and don't let anyone steal him from you" Mrs Shaw said happily. "thank you Mom, I have to select an outfit for my dinner tonight, I will hung up now, bye, love you lots Mom". The call hung up. This room was not sound proof so as long as anyone stood outside the door, they would hear everything being said from the inside and Mrs Shaw was so excited that she forgot to lower her voice when talking. Mr Shaw stood at the door and heard the dialogue between mother and daughter. At first when he heard his wife talking to his daughter on the phone he didn't want to talk to her but after thinking about it, he walked in the direction of his room so that he could talk to his daughter through his wife's phone, before he could turn the doorknob, what he heard made him pause and he ended up eavesdropping, listening to everything. Mr Shaw literally heard everything because he came here not long after his wife went in.
