Later in the morning, someone strolled into her room after knocking once.
"Oye Mister! You are supposed to ask for permission before getting into a girl's room," she glared at him in the mirror while putting on her earring.
Varun ignored her words, believing she never means what she says, and settled himself on a chair.
Looks like the elders were right about the 'influence of the company.'
"Do you know what your friend went through in the morning!" And Somya's storytelling mode got activated. She told him everything about the morning incident without missing any details.
"So what brings you here?" She finally asked, after giving him all the updates.
Varun, who was attentively listening to her exaggerated story, paused to think.
He was having breakfast with his family in the morning. But the moment he ate the parathas made by their house' chef, his face became twisted. After eating parathas made by her, he couldn't bring himself to eat these anymore. So he ate his breakfast half-heartedly and subconsciously drove to her house.
"Breakfast," a word slipped from his mouth.
"Huh? Are you here for Breakfast?"
Knowing it's too late to regret, he nodded, "My mom wasn't home today so I thought about eating out." Afraid she would misunderstand that he was treating her house as a restaurant, he added, "thinking you may not have eaten yet I thought about asking you to join."
'Now that's what flirting-with-a-straight-face is! 'is what Rahul would have said if he was there.
"Do you like South Indian Cuisine?" She asked.
Thinking she's talking about his offer, he responded, "Yeap, anything is fine."
"Great then! I had made Idli for breakfast," she clapped happily and ran towards the kitchen.
Before he could stop her she has already sprinted to the kitchen. Feeling a little guilty for his lies, he sighed. But as the aroma of the food entered the room with her, he threw his conscience to the back of his mind.
"Tada! Everyone's all-time favorite, mouth-watering dish, Idli, is making an appearance in the room!" She shouted dramatically before placing the plates on a table nearby.
"I was thinking about losing weight and eating Idli is the only dieting I can do full-heartedly," giggling, she served him food and started eating.
Varun felt spices bursting on his taste buds when he sipped the soup called Sambhar with Idli. It was mouth-watering just like how she said. But since he had eaten at home his stomach was already half-full.
Watching him getting up with his plate empty she anxiously asked, "What's wrong? You didn't like it?"
"No. It was good. But I'm full." Not only was it good but it was actually delicious.
"Hey, you may not know but just because it tastes good doesn't mean it would harm your health. It has low calories and lots of fiber in it and it keeps your stomach full for a longer period. The spices used in making the Sambhar also benefit our bodies. So just sit down and eat to your heart's content," she explained, thinking he is counting her breakfast as fast food.
Forced by her lecture, Varun has no other option but to sit down and eat a few more bites of food.
After finishing their breakfast she looked towards him and said casually, "Do you know, a good compliment can really make someone's day better. If you like something about someone you shouldn't keep it just inside your head. Say it out loud and that someone's day would be all smiles since she got praised. Words don't cost much so why save them like gold.
At first, he had no idea why she was telling him this but then...Oh! "The breakfast was delicious. You make excellent food, Hooligan."
"Oh really! Thank you!" And she beamed like a kid.
Oh, God! He is never going to get used to her way of doing things!
