Chapter 67 - Those Adorable Eyes Of Yours!

He bent down to meet her eyes and said with an enchanting smile, "Are you...really experienced?"

Momentarily struck by his deep voice and dark brown eyes, she affirmed, "Yes."

"Then you have lost the chance."

"Hmm?"

" You lost the chance because I prefer innocence over experience," he replied, still gazing at her beautiful doe-eyes.

"Huh?!" she looked into his eyes questionably, not getting his words.

He didn't reply, instead stood beaming widely, showing his teeth.

'As your eyes met mine, suddenly it all changed for me.

I wanted to go somewhere but don't know why I came to you.

When I come near you, it makes me forget myself.

Those adorable eyes of yours, talk a thousands things to me in just a moment.

These adorable eyes of yours, keep me awake all night, why?'

It took Somya a moment to realize that he was playing with her.

"You...!!" she got speechless by his words and blushed profusely.

Ignoring her blushing self and leaving her angry self behind, Varun resumed walking and she hurriedly followed him.

"I thought you won't be having cash as always," Somya said to Varun while sipping on her Buttermilk, remembering the days when he asks her if he could play online.

"And I thought you won't be able to finish that Dosa alone but looks like there is still space left in your stomach," he responded, eying to her new purchase.

"Mmm. In our culture, we drink Buttermilk instead of water after food. Don't you know that! It helps to decrease the blood pressure and cholesterol level in the body and keeps us refreshed too."

After hesitating a little, she added, "Well, a few days back Mehta Uncle, the cafe owner, asked me something."

He gave her a look which means continue.

"He asked me a way to thank you."

"Oh, and what did you say?" He asked, indifferently.

"I advised them to just free your meals in the cafe," she responded nervously, her eyes not meeting his. She sighed inwardly, remembering the hard struggle she had with herself while offering various solutions to Mr. Mehta's problem.

"Well if they are relieving my bills then it's their business. Why are you acting like you are suffering a loss here? Are you upset that they didn't give you your share of gratitude?" He teased her.

Her eyes grew wide at his wishful thinking and she blurted out her thoughts, " What! No way! Instead, I am worried by the fact that I have no idea how to deal with big favors. And I think that I owe this to you too and should be paying something to express my gratitude. Afterall, I was the one who asked for your help." She can't help but rebuke herself for being so selfish to take his help for granted. Of course, he deserves something in return.

"Who told you that?"

"What?" she asked meekly.

"Who told you that I helped them because of you?! I did it because I was capable and I felt like doing it," he replied sharply. He didn't like her feeling burdened by something trivial like this.

She finally raised her eyes to confront his. It took her a while to interpret what he said.

"Really?" she asked softly.

" Mmm."

Somya felt a soft pang in her heart as if something broke inside of her. She was feeling complicated. Having a capable friend and someone who helps strangers without any greed is something to be proud of but then why was she feeling disappointed at the same time. Was it because he said that he didn't help Adi because of her? Is that so? Suddenly her sadness dissipated somewhere and got replaced by anger.

"So does that mean I don't owe you anything?" she let out with a warning in her tone.

Not catching her emotions, Varun nodded his head.

"You better remember this then!" After spouting nonsense that didn't make sense to even her, she strode towards the front door of his car, leaving a clueless Varun alone.

There was a strange silence in the car.

So, for the first time in history, Mr. Kashyap decided to break the ice himself.  "So, don't you have any questions about the men we faced yesterday?"
