As they got out, everyone started murmuring both in awe and surprise. They were waiting to know what the pair had for them, and hopefully, they would answer all the questions. They were anxious to know many things, more than they cared about the almost discouraging weather.
The clouds were starting to show up, and if they were not careful, they would be rained on, but from the looks in their eyes, the rain was nothing compared to the curiosity they had about the duo.
No one would be bombed that bad if they didn't have enemies or if they hadn't done something that even the universe would frown upon. Maybe they were just cursed, but then again, that wouldn't be proper because they were part of a successful data company valued by the nation.
It was not possible for them to be involved in any dangerous scandals off-book, or were they?
Why would someone want the heirs of the garner company dead when they could threaten their parents and get away with it?
Surely killing Alex was no use because Lexi was lethal compared to her brother, and she would ruin them, so what in the fuck happened to trigger such an explosion? One that left the whole nation shaken and scared?
What could have been the reason for anyone to try and hit the most secure yet dangerous party the city had ever seen? Alex and Lia went to the seats they had set up and waited for the bombarding to begin.
They knew there would be multiple questions, but they also knew there was a chance the questions would be intrusive, so Alex decided to beat them. He knew they would ask more questions about Lia, but he could see the attention she was getting was messing with her.
He needed to make a choice and a decision that would be good for him and her. She was his main priority at the moment.
Looking at the crowd of reporters and freelance journalists and a shitload of paparazzi who wanted to get the best of the best, not to mention the crowd that was giving the guard a hard time.
These people were like pests, but Alex knew if he didn't deal with the issue today, he would end up suing someone, and he didn't feel like engaging in any legalities when he had just woken from them the fucking dead.
"good afternoon, everyone. I know you have questions, and we are here to answer them all. My baby is camera shy, so that I will be doing most of the talking. Any disrespectful question will not get any answer, and you won't attempt any conference with us. So you can begin, and please do it respectfully." Alex said as he checked on Lia to know whether she was okay.
He knew no one would want to pass up the chance of following or even having Alexander garner at their interviews. The man literally walked with millions of views on him before he disappeared; what now when he woke up from the dead and talked like nothing had happened?
They wouldn't want to mess it up because he was worth more money to them than when he was not taking their interviews. He was basically the center of scandals, and which media house never liked exposing scandals?
Back home, the James brothers enjoyed the shit show, and it was almost hilarious to imagine Amelia being a shy girl. It was just pathetic how the media believed their hard-headed, stubborn ass baby sister was shy.
Amelia James and shy never belonged to the same sentence, but right now, it seemed as if she was married to the word shy.
The girl could sever heard from necks without being remorseful about it, but right now, she was seated in a manner that could make even a blind man pity her. But that was okay because her performance skills hadn't deteriorated.
This would make it easier for her.
The way she was tilting her head in fear of the cameras was thrilling to the point that Nick wanted to give his boss the actress of the year award. Who could have known she would ever put up this kind of show when just the previous day she was telling the media and everyone else to fuck off in her combat wear?
Their sister really deserved a medal.
Even with the chaos, even when he knew she could handle herself, Damien still didn't like the idea of his baby sister going back into the lion's den. He was supposed to protect her, but he also had to remember that young Amelia knew how to protect herself.
She would do everything to get the justice they were all looking for. For now, the brothers and sisters had to put their pretty asses down and watch the interview unfold. How long would it take before their sister really stayed the little sister they wanted?
How long before she let them take care of her as she cared for everyone?
How long before the world acknowledged her and her hard work?
How long would it have to take before Amelia James lived a normal life?
Damien hated this.
He wanted to take up the quiet and hunt down Ryan himself. He would make him pay for ruining his family and making everything so hard. He would pay for forcing Amelia to grow up so fast for taking away the beautiful smile she had always had.
He would pay for making their sister a monster. Even if she were a monster, Amelia would always be their baby sister. She would always get the most attention, but not the kind she was getting now.
It was almost as if Alex was parading her in front of the world, which was what he was doing, but he was also doing that to make the world understand that Lia was his. That he would protect Lia with everything he had, something that Damien had promised would make him regret if his sister got hurt again.
The James siblings were plagued with pain and lots of anger, but beneath all that, they understood each other and cared for one another. They knew what it meant to love and lose, and this time, they were not going to lose, and maybe that's why carl and Jill were preparing to go to Alex's residence.
They would be there in case their sister needed backup. They would be there to assure her that she would be okay even if she didn't need it.
They would be there to make her feel loved even when the reporters were ambushing her, and more than anything, they would be there to ensure the knife in her combat boots was not used on anyone.
