Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Daddy

WIDE-EYED, I gawked at the man in front of me as much as he's staring, looking down on my shaking form.

There were no words coming from each one of us, just a series of eye to eye match which was getting harder on my part.

His shirt was disturbingly unbuttoned from the top, leaving only two pieces of button on the middle attached. His chest was too exposed that got my cheeks burning, I had to tell myself that I'm in no position to admire such view as I'm currently in a dangerous situation.

His messy blue hair and pair of golden eyes feels familiar even though I am positive that this is the first time I met such beautiful man even if I count the life I once lived in.

Ah ... maybe ... because the moment I saw him ... I already realized who he was.

I haven't seen him in flesh for the passed years, but the novel in my mind introduced him enough for me to recognize him right away.

I badly want to deny everything I'm seeing right now, but there's just no doubt about it.

He looks so much like the story described him to be.

This guy ... he's definitely the emperor...

Deianeira's father-Primo Igor Archambeau.

"Oh..."

My brows rose when he quickly hid the smirk that formed on his lips with his hand.

H-He smiled? He smiled, right? And it was an evil one! I saw it! I definitely saw it!

Was that the start of his evil scheme towards me?

"You ... come with me." His eyes glowed, defining it's sharpness in spite of the darkness.

Oh, I knew it! I knew it! I'm dead! I'm dead!

I felt like my stomach turned upside down, feeling like throwing up at the sudden nauseousness forming in my body.

What did I do wrong? Where was it fell from its place? This is definitely nothing like what the story ran!

I, Deianeira, supposed to meet my father when I became seven! This is two years earlier!

Did I mess up the storyline? Was it because I was rushing to run away too much that I ruined some parts of it?

I bit onto my lower lip, taking a step behind the emperor who opened the door of the room I penetrated awhile a go. So that was his room? I didn't know! No one ever tell!

If only I knew, I wouldn't have came inside. If that did not happen, he couldn't have see me.

Today ... I'm going to die today, isn't it?

There was a set of large couch and a table placed on the middle of his room. He strode towards it, and me, following him quietly.

"You can sit," he said, gazing on me. I felt like I paled soon as our eyes met once again.

I, I need to be obedient from today on in an attempt to prolong my life!

I walked towards the couch parallel to where he was sitting. I tried sitting down, but my butt couldn't reach the seat. It was too high for a child like me.

Why does the every single furniture in this room is like this?!

I faced the couch and tried my best to reach the seat by climbing on it. It was a tough job for a toddler like me. I was huffing, heaving my chest up and down. I felt like I got years older because of that stress.

Finally, I was able to faced the emperor. He was slouching on his back, leaning his temple on his knuckle. He was looking at me quiet deeply. And there was this hint of amusement filling up his eyes.

"You looked like a bug when you're struggling," he said coldly in spite of the enjoyment present in his eyes.

What did you just say, you son of a-

"E-Ehehehe..." I smiled real wide like a clown

I can't afford to irk him at this moment. I haven't forgotten what was his emotional tendencies when it comes to Deianeira.

But that's it. The other thing I'm being confused right now is that ... was it emphasized how the emperor gets really angry just by looking at his daughter?

I secretly peeked to see Primo's face, but quickly averted my eyes when he caught me. My heart was beating too fast enough to compare on the heartbeat of a running marathon contestant.

He ... he doesn't seem that angry in my eyes. Was it just the novel's exaggeration that he's quickly ill-tempered just by looking at Deianeira?

"Tell me why you snuck in this room?"

He crossed his legs and leaned his back on the couch, straight his neck from leaning on his knuckle. The other hand of his reached the arm rest and began to tap his fingertips slowly and repeatedly.

I began to sweat like a pig. S-Shit!

The novel mentioned how Primo can tell right away if the person in front of him is lying or not. I can't afford to lie because it'll be my neck in line!

"R-Running ... away," I managed to say in spite of accidentally biting my tongue due to nervousness.

"Hmmm..."

I-I'm gonna cry!

"So, you're playing tag and running away from your servants?"

My eyes widened. He misunderstood?

"Y-Yes?" I smiled innocently.

"If you're still playing, then you can stay here for a little longer."

I choked on my own saliva. Oh, my gosh. I'm dying from heart attack this time!

"Do you not like the darkness? You seemed to be squinting your eyes since awhile ago."

Well, that's because I'm forcing to smile just so you wouldn't think of stabbing me!

He then flicked his fingers. For low, the curtains moved on their own to reveal the sunlight coming from the wide glass of a window that immediately reached our place. The room became refreshing as it was covered by the light.

"I can see you better now."

Well now, I can see your wicked handsomeness clearly!

He has strong pointed nose, thin pinksih lips, and a pair of sharp eyes under his thick brows. His golden irises was remarkable, too.

He's pretty handsome for a person who's about to become insane.

I did not answer and just stared back at him, still forcing to grin. I can't afford to avert my attention from him. What if he suddenly thinks of launching on me and tries to strangle me to death, huh?!

Minutes passed, before he spoke to me again. This time, he asked me the most dangerous question he could ask to me.

"As you are fearlessly staring back at me at this moment ... do you happen to know who I am?"

"Y-You are ... you ... my..." I gulped the lump forming in my throat. "D-Daddy?"

His eyes sharpened even more.

Oh my, gosh ... did I just make another reason for him to kill me?
