Jerissa shook her head, "I know, you are a wise king. You will never resort to such foolishness!"
"What foolishness?" Ezekiel growled, grabbing her forearm with force, "You think I'm a fool?!"
"If you select me as a Queen, yes, you are!"
"Jerissa, you dare doubt my decisions? You think I am a king who knows nothing but run my mouth using words and promises I cannot even stand up for?"
His grasp on her arm hurt, but Jerissa stayed quiet. She was the reason why Ezekiel got angry, but… did he really mean, he was true to his words?
Ezekiel noticed how Jerissa acted, and how she lightly trembled. Seems like he scared her.
Pulling her towards him, he hugged her once again. "Apologies, I… just want you to believe in me."
"Why…" she uttered, "Why do you do this?"
"I thought it was obvious enough… that I love you?"
"What…? What are you saying-"
"I said I love you, Jerissa. I thought I made it clear, I… I thought… actions speak louder than words."
