Upon seeing Maria charge at the carriage, the footman's eyes widened in fear and he quickly matched her pace in order to open the door before the Princess could do it herself and get him in trouble for not doing his job properly.
He fumbled as he opened the door before he held a hand out for the Queen of Greece.
"Mother!" Maria shouted as she held out her arms and closed the space between them.
"Oh my child!" Queen Kalli said as she opened her arms to catch her daughter who was barreling towards her.
They clashed and the Queen immediately started crying. Behind them, King Nicos exited the carriage and wrapped his arms around both his girls. The King pulled back and both he and his wife held their darling child's face as they told her how beautiful she looked and how happy they were to see her. Maria giggled through the tears and threw herself back in their arms.
