They walked along their wing of the castle together, and Arthur showed Maria every single room. Most looked like a human had not been in them in years, and many were covered in a thin layer of dust that left behind a musky smell.
Arthur explained that their particular wing was for an overflow of guests if many were visiting. He said that they would probably be cleaned soon in anticipation of their wedding and coronation.
At that, Maria gulped. "How many guests are we expecting? If this section is for extra people that would not fit in the typical guest rooms?" she asked timidly.
"For a wedding and a coronation? Probably hundreds. We haven't had that grand a celebration probably since my parents were married and crowned," Arthur explained.
"Oh," Maria replied, suddenly nervous. She hated being the center of attention, and knowing hundreds of people would come to watch her during the two biggest moments of her life petrified her.
