"You're back," Maria whispered as she trailed her small hands down his long neck and onto his chest.
Arthur hummed against her neck before he placed a delicate kiss right under her jaw. "Did you miss me?" he asked just barely above a whisper.
He pulled away just enough to see Maria's reaction, but Maria was upset with the distance put between them. After all this time apart, she did not want to have any space from him. She wrapped her arms around his back and pulled his body back against hers.
Maria's eyes never left Arthur's as she answered, "More than anything."
To both of them, it felt like they were the only two people in the world. At that moment, nothing mattered but each other. All of the servants in the castle could have been watching, but it didn't matter not one bit to Arthur or Maria.
