Before they made their way outside, Maria and Arthur found a servant in the halls, and they asked him to inform the kitchen that they would be having a picnic outside in the gardens by the flower maze.
Knowing the kitchen would need time to prepare them something, Arthur decided to show Maria the chapel that they had on the grounds. It had a stone exterior that had been almost hidden by all of the green vines that had climbed across the walls. The large wooden door creaked when he pushed it open, and it created an echo that vibrated through the interior.
The inside of the chapel had high ceilings, and Maria immediately noticed that it was bigger than it appeared to be from the outside. The walls had paintings of religious figures that Maria was not familiar with, and there were rows upon rows of pews that could probably seat hundreds of people.
