As we were exiting the managers office I observed my surroundings and could see all the guards glaring at me. But when my eyes glanced their way, they all looked away. "You see them too don't you? The captain whispered to me.
I nodded.
"Don't be afraid of them. Their not trying to intimidate you."
As we approached the door to sector two I looked at the guard's eyes to see what they truly were glaring at. They're glaring at the captain.
"Sir, two recruits under your command were caught sneaking around sector three of the facility."
"So you caught them in this sector?" The captain asked.
"Yes. We brought them to their barracks and are waiting for you there." The guard responded.
I glanced at the captain and I could see a look of disappointment. "Arata let's go."
"Yes sir."
We made our way down the hallway which lead to sector one. Sector one was the residential sector. So it had all the barracks, the cafeteria, and even the gate to leave this place.
Once we arrived to the barracks we could see two guards guarding the door. "Sir." The guards saluted the captain.
"You two are to return to your normal duties." The captain stated.
"Yes sir." The guards replied.
We entered the barracks and could see Sakuta and Paul trying to escape through a vent. "What the hell are you two doing?" The captain asked.
"Trying to escape." Paul responded.
"Get down." The captain's tone changed. It sounded like he was about to start lecturing.
As Paul and Sakuta hopped off the small ladder they somehow made, the captain pulled out a notebook.
"Paul, Sakuta, and Arata, you'll all be running 100 laps with me tomorrow."
Paul's jaw dropped. "Please say you're kidding…"
"Just for that comment make it 200."
"Shut up Paul." Sakuta demanded.
"Don't worry I'll be doing them with you. We should all do the punishment as a team. But until then get some sleep. We have a long day tomorrow."
I sighed in relief. It was my first night sleeping in the facility and so far nothing major happened. "Besides that meeting."
"You say something Arata" Sakuta asked.
"What… No I didn't say anything." I quickly responded.
"Alright then. Get some sleep. You'll need it for tomorrow."
"I can say the same for you." I responded.
As I put my head on the pillow I noticed something on the roof. It looked like a camera but they tried to hide it. There were also vents all around the room that you couldn't notice unless you were laying in your bed with the lights on.
But all of a sudden the lights turned off and a sign near the door lit up.
Light out.
"I guess that's our sign to get some sleep." Paul stated.
"I guess so." Sakuta responded.
All of a sudden it went quiet. It was so quiet you could've heard a pen drop on carpet. It was also dark. No light from the hallway was able to enter the room.
"I wonder what the captain is doing." I muttered as I started to pass out.
"Wake the hell up!"
Out of habit I hopped right out of my bed, fixed my bed, and got into uniform. When I finished putting my uniform on I looked around the room. And to my surprise it was still pitch black. I walked towards the light that made its way through one of the vents and listened very closely to my surroundings.
"Get your asses up now." I could hear someone yell. "I can't believe that there transferring you to Site-19." Someone else said as they were passing the vent.
"Site-19." I muttered to myself.
"Yea Site-19. One of the most dangerous sites that you could be transferred to after you graduate the cadet program."
"Holy crap!" I yelled. "What are you doing in here?"
"Coming to wake my cadets."
"Alright then. Sakuta doesn't really wake up straight away. So I'll take care of him if it's needed." I stated.
"No. If you wake him up that shows that he'll only wake up to you. If he doesn't wake up then I'll use the way the foundation uses for people who don't wake up." The captain responded.
I started to walk towards the door so I could be ready to leave. But then the lights were turned on and I could see Paul staring to open his eyes. But like always Sakuta was still asleep.
"Every time." I said to myself.
I looked down in misbelief and noticed I was still in the cloths I sleep in.
"Sakuta get up now!" The captain demanded in a serious voice.
As I was getting changed I could see Sakuta still asleep. But after two minutes of waiting the captain had enough of it. The captain opened his bag he kept on him and took out a bottle full of purple liquid out. He opened the bottle and poured it in Sakuta's mouth.
"Hey captain, what was that?" I asked.
"You'll see." He responded.
