I stand tall, but am always stepped on. I am a great spot to sit, on a hot, sunny day. It is colder in my presence. I am shade, a relative of shadow. I exist in the presence of direct sunlight, and help cool down all who come under. I am quite popularly found under trees, but maybe that's shadow. I enjoy being a person's shelter from the sun even if I'm not the one blocking it. I, like shadows, do not move but instead grow with my tree. Me and shadow are one in the same, but it is more enjoyable talking like we are together. There may be multiple trees, and we may interlock but we most certainly prefer not to talk. We have no teeth nor any mind of our own. We stand until the tree falls and we stay loyal and lay beside it, until it completely disappears from this world with us following behind it.
