"Uh… never mind. I brought up something weird…"
"Let's do that," he immediately cut in between, hearing her taking back her words. "We should do this someday, so don't take it back."
That was all it took to make Airi happy. If Shiro could see, he would've found her grinning ear to ear right now. "Okay, that's settled then. That's a promise. Dontcha dare break it."
"Promise," he extended his hands outside of the window, and a few snowflakes started falling on his palm instead. And as if he sealed his promise with those falling snowflakes, he fisted his hands and pulled the first near his chest. "It is a promise."
The phone call ended soon after that. Airi started humming in joy, while preparing for sleep. She finally could get through him. And as a bonus, she could make a promise with him, to make her wish come true. It was worth more than anything currently in the world.
