Airi kept herself holed up in her room, for both she was comfortable with it, and she didn't really want to meet any people, especially Carter.
Of course, she was embarrassed. And guilty too. After all, she had turned down a guy who had been so good to her. And she couldn't even provide him a good enough reason for turning him down. No way he deserves such a cold treatment.
When she was still trying her best not to face him, at least not anytime sooner, her parents ended up inviting his whole family for new year's dinner. Airi felt like slamming her head against the wall, but there might be a chance of her dying without even actually accomplishing anything. So she held back.
