Chris was entering the lobby of his office when Emily called him from behind.
"Good Morning Mr. Chang."
Good Morning Emily.
"Mr. Chang, Miss Yang is going to be late today as she went to check the flower arrangement for the decoration of the venue."
"Okay, Emily, when she will come, tell her to come to my office"
"Okay, Mr. Chang."
Chris went towards his office while dialing someone's number. On phone
"How's it going?"
"Everything is going as you want, sir."
"Make sure none will notice it, I want you to keep it a secret."
"Don't worry sir, I will do as you say."
he hung up the call, with a faint smile on his lips.
Cherry was checking the flower arrangement while talking to Tom. "Tom makes sure that everything will be done by tomorrow and check the conference hall after this, I don't need any mistake."
"Don't worry, Miss. Yang." After giving a few more instructions Cherry left the venue and walked to her car and drove it off towards her office. As she entered her office, Emily told her that Mr. Chang wants to meet her. She nodded and went towards the pantry. With two cups of coffee in her hands, she started to walk toward Chris's office. She knocked on the door and went inside.
"Hey, Chris, you were asking for me?" Cherry asked while handing him a cup of coffee.
"Hey Cherry, Please have a seat". He took the cup from her hand and started sipping his coffee.
"How's your preparation going?'
"All set, we just need to make a sitting arrangement for the press conference with the complimentary meal."
"Great, Princess"
"Why have you called me here?"
"My father has invited you for dinner today with them.'
"Okay, what time do we need to be there?"
"Be ready by Eight, I will pick you up from your home.
"Okay, Chris." with that, she left his office and went towards the parking as she had to pay a visit to her mother in the hospital. As she started her car she again saw the same car following her. She frowned her eyebrow but shrugged it off. Little did she know that all this time someone was keeping an eye on her and this was her biggest mistake to shrug it off again and again. As she entered the hospital she saw Mr. Kim being scolded by someone in the corridor of the cancer patient unit. He was looking very scared while talking to the person.
Dr. Kim, "I am doing my best to save her, but she is not responding to the treatment."
"Do you think I give a fuck about it, doc, just keep her alive for a few more months until I get married to her daughter, I don't care if she lives or dies after that. Until then make sure to keep her alive and safe or else you know me".
As Cherry approached them that person walked away from him keeping Dr. Kim alone with Cherry.
Dr. Kim was having cold sweat and was shivering in fear, Cherry approached him and wished him good afternoon, and asked concernedly, "Are you fine, Dr. Kim?"
"Yes, Miss Yang. I'm just a little exhausted. Your mother is sleeping, I think you should not disturb her." with that he left from there without uttering any other word.
She went inside her mother's room quietly and kept some bags on the side shelf, after keeping the fruits bag on the shelf she looked at her mother who was lying on the bed. She was looking very weak and her skin had turned pale. She felt a sting in her heart after seeing the condition of her mother.
She sat on the chair while looking at her mother, a tear escaped her eye, she was in so much pain. Her mother was the most beautiful woman in her eyes. But now her condition was getting worst day by day. She got up from her chair kissed her mother's forehead and walked out of the room with a heavy heart. She went to the park to take some fresh air. There was a shadow of someone behind her who was keeping an eye on her.
After sitting there for some time, she went to her car and drove off towards her home. She kept her things on the table and went towards her room. She went to the bathroom to take a warm bath as she wants to drive off all her feeling with the warm water. It was seven when she came out of the bathroom. she went towards her closet to get some clothes to put on for the dinner at Chang's residence. She took a baby blue dress that ended below her knees. A thick, yet, fancy belt was wrapped around her waist adding more beauty to the costume. The black 3' stiletto had an excess of the beauty of her and her dress. She kept her hair open which reached up to her waist. She applied little makeup and a very light tint of pink lipstick. Looking at the mirror she was satisfied with her look, she grabbed the purse and went towards the living room.
Cherry's POV
I was going through my phone when I heard a honk from Chris's car. I grabbed my house keys and my purse and went towards the door.
Chris POV
I saw Cherry coming towards the car I was mesmerized by her beauty she was looking like an angel, and her dress was complimenting her milky skin. She got into the car and we drove off toward my parent's house. It was thirty minutes ride from her house. It was a total silent ride. As we reached there, I climbed out of the car and went towards her side and opened the door for her, She climbed out of the car and we both walked towards my house.
Cherry's POV
As we entered I saw Mr. Chang sitting in the living room and Mrs. Chang was giving some instructions to the maids. I wished both of them with a smile on my face. They were very happy to see me.
"Cherry, how are you love?" Mrs. Chang asked with a loving smile on her face. She came toward me and hugged me.
"I'm fine Mrs. Chang."
"How are you?"
"I'm fine dear", Mrs. Chang said.
Mr. Chang was talking to Chris when I walked towards him he asked about the health of my mother, and I told them that she is not fine, and disappointment was visible on their faces.
"Dinner is served, let's go towards the dining room", Mrs. Chang said with a beautiful smile, We walked towards the dining room. All food was set on the table. There were a lot of dishes served. As we started eating I saw Chris laughing and talking to his parents. I felt warmth in my heart by seeing them together. After finishing dinner Mr. Chang took me to the balcony and handed me a glass of wine.
"Cherry, How's your work going?" he asked while sipping his glass of wine.
"Everything is going fine Mr. Chang." replied politely.
"Very well, Dear. I want to talk to you about Chris. I'm concerned about him Cherry".
"Why, Mr. Chang"
"See, Cherry, Chris loves you the most and we also want you to be our daughter-in-law. Life never stops for anyone dear, you should move on from your past. We know what you have been through in your past but it's all in the past, you can't live with it throughout your life. Get out of it, dear you are as dear to me as my son."
"I know, Mr. Chang. But it is very difficult for me to move on after that".
"Don't feel alone love, we are always there to love you and support you. You are our family. We will support you no matter what you decide in the future,"
"Thanks, Mr. Chang, it means a lot."
After a long time, I was feeling the warmth of family. "It's getting cold out here, let's go inside", his father held me and we both walked inside. After talking for some time, we bid goodbye to his parents and drove out of there.
On the way, Chris stopped the car near the bank of the river. We got out of the car, he handed me a cane of beer. We started taking a sip of our beer when he started talking about random stuff. It was getting cold and I was shivering because of my short dress. Chris took out his coat and put it on me.
Suddenly a sudden warmth spread across my body, my heart can also feel the warmth, he looked into my eyes and held my both cheeks, and said with full determination, "Cherry, please give me chance, I do love you." He looked deep into my eyes and stated further, "Cherry you mean everything to me. I can't imagine my life without you. Please think about it".
There was deep love in his eyes. His breath was touching my lips, he pecked my lips. My mind goes numb for some time. After a few seconds, I pulled myself from him and went towards his car. He raked his hair in frustration, then get into the car and we drove off.
Someone's POV
You will pay for kissing my kitten, Bastard. I will not forgive you to touch, my woman. The man threw the cigarette butt out of his car window, anger was completely visible on his face. He hit the starring of his car with great force. His eyes were red with anger. He accelerated his car and drove off at full speed.
