Virginia oh sweet Virginia, the whites used to praise the colony for it's outstanding growth of tobacco all over the place. Most people lived in one-room homes with dirt floors. Some people (farmers) lived in large houses. Households made their own clothes. Most clothing was made from cotton, wool, and leather.
After one month of residing at the plantation I was already familiar with holding a needle and thread, I used to sew clothes back in Xinjiang at least that's the only thing which my mother was so proud of apart from me practicing martial arts skills. She wanted me to be a girl, vulnerable and obeying to my husband. But I was all of those things to my darling husband that I wished my mother could see it, sometimes when the house was empty and I was left all alone the memories of home overcrowded my thoughts.
