The news of the battle between the rebels and the reigning government of Qianlong Emperor spread like a wildfire and it reached us through a raven who delivered a hand written note to Yishen.
It was night and a week after our wedding, we were having dinner after such a splendid day where we went out to picnic all by ourselves trying to get ourselves acquainted as much as possible. And by acquainted I mean making love under the open sky like wild animals, Yishen couldn't get enough of me.
But the excitement and joy faded once Yishen read the note. He couldn't even feast anymore, and neither could I.
"My King, your smile had faded. What does the note say?" I asked him worried about what he was going to tell me.
He didn't say anything but just handed me the note, we were the only ones on the table.
"He has defeated the rebels" said Yishen.
