"How! How can this even happened! We aren't talking about an ordinary spirit here!", listening to the news, Jeremy was flabbergast. Ever since he had stepped in the boundaries of the northern realm of skies, nothing happened out of order. Under the oversight of the spirit of air, everything had always worked so fine and smoothly that all the spirits and goddesses had forgotten that there existed a word 'distress'. Everything had been working so steadily that nobody noticed that the unsteady shifts in hell.
It had been a long time to the demon locked up in hell, too long for someone to plan their escape and come out with a powerful strategy guaranteeing their victory by all means. Too long for someone to review the same scene in their mind, fanning the rage, as a result not letting the revenge down even a bit.
"I went to the southern realm to get details on the attack. The King enlightened on the matter telling me that the subordinates of the gatekeeper were summoned to the barren fostress in the south. We concluded that these two phenomenal incidents are connected since the same method was followed to bring down the gatekeepers. Some bad spirits were also managed to escape when the turmoil broke out. Some of them were forced back into the dungeon but a few still ran off. The King had the whole army on alert around the realm. A new gatekeeper had also been set up."
Jeremy felt a wave of anxious emotions running through his body. His father was alone. He must be standing with him. But knowing the temper of the king and how steadfast he was in his decisions, he would never permit him to come back to the palace. His elder brother was next in line to the throne and he should've been with the king when the casualty erupted in their kingdom but he was on earth, who knew doing what.
"We know the prime assailant behind all this. More riots could only be prevented if you stop being a shit head and come ba-"
"Calling me a shit head when you are the one who couldn't keep both the realms safe from attacks."
"For letting you know I'm a spirit of the air. I do have the authority to make decisions in drastic times and yes you're right I could've prevented the new attack from transpiring if your adamant an*s would've done as I said and flew back here!"
"Blaming it all on me? Doesn't suit you, Ian",
"Kid, there is still time. The demon is flaring up the violence only to have your attention. He wants you. Come back and let him know that you're here. Let him come here. I and all other powerful spirits will be lined up to protect you and put him back in hell. But we can only do this if you're here. Down on earth, you know that we cannot locate him."
Coming back and then waiting like a coward dog behind the strong army while being confined to an empty underground place? No. Grim knew what the spirit of air was up to. He only wanted to have grim over to the realm so that they could have the demon appeared there and then lock him up with the help of other spirits without involving grim in all that.
It was his fight and he would be the one putting it to an end.
He wasn't a puppet or programmed machine operating on Ian's command. He would do as he was convinced.
"You don't have to protect me. Also, if you think you can use me as a bait to allure the prey into your trap, you've got it wrong there. I am a grim reaper and I will not allow you to---"
"Cut through your damn attitude you a*shole! Are you that stupid to not read between the lines!"
"You know what?", grim stepped towards the spirit of air and stood right before him. Lowering his face to the level of spirit, he looked straight into his eyes.
"F*ck off", he blew out the words on the face of the spirit of the air. He had been holding himself from the moment the spirit yelled at him. But he kept doing that. No one was allowed to yell at him, curse words at him.
No one in this damn universe except his little fawn.
When he was about to turn around to fly back, he saw the goddess of love coming to where they were standing. Without thinking for a second, he flew in her direction. Grabbing her wrist, he took her inside her room and threw her on the bed.
Craving.
He had been holding back for days.
Hunger and thirst.
He had ignored for three times.
Needs.
He was giving in.
There was no holding back. No giving in. Lust clouded not just his eyes, his mind, senses. That was it. He needed a distraction and he had it.
Humans were believed to turn into beasts when they were drunk and driven by their lustful intentions rather than using the brain to make rational decisions. Those who would have alcohol clouding their senses, wouldn't bother to look into their surroundings, the consequences of their lascivious desire would crash on preys, all they had to take care of was how to fulfill their needs.
Grim, regardless of his debauched needs, there was one thing that made him different from those monsters in human bodies, consent being involved. However, at the end of the day, he was also only taking advantage of someone who was forced because of her heart.
"Cora told me that you were here yesterday."
When the goddess of flowers informed the goddess of love that grim came there, she became unhappy that he left without meeting her. She knew what type of relationship he had with the latter, it wasn't even worth calling a relationship, still, she hoped that grim would come to her, just for the sake of lust and needs, she didn't care.
"Why didn't you come to me?", grim hummed in response to her previous statement, his hands undressing the goddess.
"Does it matter? I'm here now", once done, he threw the dress in the air. Colliding his body against her exposed skin, he crashed into her seductive lips.
He didn't have to give in to his needs this time. He had the desired distraction as well. He wasn't accountable to anyone in the universe. He wouldn't follow someone's rules or let himself be a part of someone else's plan. He made his own plans. And he would have the desired result out of them.
