Morning breeze entered the room with the melodic chirping of sparrows on the trees planted outside the building, line-up in a row by a sidewalk. The eyes grim tried to open fell shut by the bright rays of the sun, thus, he faced the door side of the room and slowly crawled out of the bed. He walked in the direction of Jeremy's room. When he didn't find him there, he strolled towards the open kitchen that was also empty. Grim frowned as he usually found the latter lurking around in the kitchen, tasting different dishes. Jeremy was a spirit but he could eat all to his liking. Grim could also eat anything for a taste but none of them ever felt appetite. As for they weren't humans.
Facing the living room, grim noticed the large glass doors to the balcony opened. When he walked out there, he saw Jeremy having a piece of the roasted fried chicken in one hand, eyes focused on the phone in the other hand.
"If you don't have an appetite, why do you even bother yourself to eat?", seating himself on the empty chair, grim wearily looked at the vehicles driving down the busy roads of Los Angeles.
"Why do you even try to eat the fancy food when you're going to empty your stomach in the toilet bowl later? I don't have an appetite but I've taste buds. If you hadn't known, the same goes for you too", Jeremy replied eyes still narrowed on the screen.
"You found yourself something new to watch?", rolling the eyes at Jeremy's reply, grim inquired when the latter didn't spare him a glance. Grim ate the food from the hotel they were staying at, as Jeremy said for the sake of better taste, his mighty stomach didn't like it one bit. So, he either wouldn't eat or when he wanted to he would ask Jeremy to cook something for him.
"There is a girl who keeps texting me. I told her that I don't know who is she but she keeps insisting that I gave her my number when I visited some elderly facility. I never went to that place, let alone giving someone my number. She's getting on my nerves", facing the other side grim hummed in a mild tone, suppressing his grin. When the girl from the elderly facility asked his phone number to trade with the room number where Ellen went, he quickly gave Jeremy's phone number.
Smart enough to keep his mighty phone number. Now how could a phone number be mighty? Anything that had a touch of grim, would have to be considered high and mighty. That was what grim believed. Why would he give his number to a low life who was seconds away to be driven by lust? Never did grim took advantage of low dignified, ordinary human bodies with mountains reaching libido neither he had any plans. He was never at a shortage of seductive, inviting physiques.
The epitome of beauty, goddesses, whose elegance and charm was unmatched against any mortal, always resided on the tip of his fingers, conceivably not just limited to his fingertips, anyhow to lay his supercilious fingers on a mortal body was beneath his dignity. The other day when he leaned in towards Mrs. Benson, he just resolved to have his time offending the little fawn. He wasn't going to capture the lips of the woman. Among all the known and unknown creations, grim always believed that humans stood on the lowest tier of the creation paradigm.
"I'm off to take a shower", getting off the chair, grim wore a neutral expression and walked back to this room. He was doubtful of Jeremy finding out that he was the one who gave his number to that girl. He would rather keep quiet than have him babbling over some nonsense for days.
Taking his shirt off and stepping out of his pants, he left them on the bathroom floor and stood under the shower after turning it on. With the water gliding down from his toned muscles to his spellbinding thighs, he ran his wet hand through his long strands. His shoulders relaxed under the warm shower.
He wanted to take shower last night but he rather felt relaxing in the warmth of the blankets. If to say, a normal ending. That's what his brain might have made him believe in. He had the capacity to stay up for as long as he would want to without dozing off, he just preferred sleeping. Though, he wouldn't dream about anything. It would be like someone switched off the lights of the room he was laying in, darkness clouding his eyes afterwards. After some time, he would open his eyes to his surroundings.
Enjoying a good heavenly minute in the shower, he stepped out of the bathroom with nothing covering his lower half and stood before his closet for today's outfit. All swanky and opulent attires hanging inside there. From tuxedoes to casual outfits, he had clothes from different brands, Dior and Gucci, not limited to these two. Meanwhile, he was deciding on the outfit, Jeremy walked in. Giving a little to no glance to grim, he made himself comfortable on the bed. After putting on the briefs, grim slid on white silk pants and took a silky smooth sky blue coloured out of the closet. Now facing the bed, he put it on, the silk fabric hiding his tattoos, and let the only button on the shirt opened.
"I'm missing my home", after a minute of silence, a voice laced with sadness filled the room.
Grim slipped into white snickers and jogged inside the bathroom. As he combed his hair, the water droplets trickling out of his wet locks. Once satisfied with the slightly parted hair, he strolled back to the room and went to the nightstand for his phone and car keys.
"Your real home or the place where you're staying now?", upon finding the sullen look on the boy's face, grim finally asked. Jeremy's real home was the Southern realm of skies. The place he was staying at for over years now was the Northern realm of skies.
"Home is where you live and find yourself breathing soundly in the air. It doesn't have to be the only place you were born at. Home can be any place where you find serenity", Jeremy was a relaxed and light-hearted person.
He could be deep at times. There were a lot of things going on in his mind. His brother could be anywhere whether it was the realm of skies or the earth. His father would never say anything to him as he was the successor of the crown. What about him? It wasn't that he was complaining about the current situation he was in. It might seem near to foolishness but he had a soft spot for grim in his heart. Ever since he heard about once a tragedy striking grim, his heart melted for the latter the moment and he promised himself that he would do anything to protect him. Though grim was enough strong to protect himself, he still made his mind.
"If you know everything this well, what are you even doing here?", glancing at the time on the lock screen, grim asked. Jeremy didn't tear his gaze from grim. After knowing everything, the sensitivity of the matter, how could he ask that question?
"Don't give me that look. I'm not holding you back here. You can go anywhere all to my care", grim fished his phone inside the pocket of his pants and grabbed the car keys.
"Spirit of air would banish me from the realm of skies if he knew that I left you alone on earth and went there", thinking about the possible outcomes of him doing as grim said, he responded accordingly.
"You make it sound like you accompany me all the time here. Also, that old geezer is too busy to keep an eye on us these days. He's still looking into Kol's matter", as grim was going to stick around Ellen most of the time, he told Jeremy that he didn't have to glue to him everywhere he went as he would always be with the girl. Jeremy didn't argue as grim just told him that he would have some more fun before ending it there for once and all.
Regardless, he didn't tell Jeremy about his plan. The plan wasn't as simple as it appeared to be. It was unsafe for grim without guaranteed success. Jeremy would inform Ian and the spirit of air would try to lock grim with all his power and grim wasn't going to let it have happened. No matter how dangerous the situation could be, if he followed his plan, he could have his desired outcome. Therefore, he was doing it confidentially. He knew that no one could handle the situation better than he could.
So he stepped forward to stop it on his own. Ignoring the likelihood of things falling off his hands, he stepped forward towards the danger. Avoiding the potential harm he could've brought to other's lives, he stepped ahead and decided to stick to his plan. Overlooking the mistake he once committed in the past, he stepped forward and was ready to repeat the same mistake. Inevitably, it was imprudent of him to take the same step he took thousands of years ago.
Decide on the things on his own.
But he was going to have things work his way this time. He wasn't going to let the past remain itself.
