The river's mist gently wafts over the drifting, red, diaphanous fabric. Cooling, the mist dampens Daniel's back. Noe's hands enjoy the smoothness the water brings to Daniel's skin.
Beneath Noe and Daniel's waists, a silk sheet is draped. Another softens where they lie.
With Daniel asleep in his arms, Noe finds it hard not to chuckle when each of Daniel's exhales tickles Noe's clavicle. Enduring, Noe lifts his grinning gaze heavenward and lets himself bathe in gratefulness. Of the beings the Omniscient could have brought into Noe's life, the Omniscient chose the most extraordinary of all. Daniel did great. Daniel IS great.
As Daniel's eyelashes brush Noe's neck, Noe returns his gaze to him.
"Ng," Daniel groans, stretching out his back.
"What's wrong?" Noe massages Daniel's lower back.
"Feels empty," Daniel groans.
Noe cannot help but laugh. "We can fill it up another day."
