"Valerian, oh Valerian," I murmur, looking myself over in the full length mirror at the end of his room, right next to the doorway. I look good- very good in fact. Though Alastor might just have a heart attack seeing me fight in these. "You have outdone yourself this time, demon king."
"You are right there," Valerian chuckles, appearing so quickly at the door frame that I am forced to scramble back, startled. Clutching my heart in panic, I manage to spare a quick glance over to the silhouetted figure by the entrance of the room, all but missed as he lingers in the darkness of the shadows.
Chuckling once more he ducks under the entrance, drawing the curtains to allow more of that buttery light to fill the room around us, gleaming off my new suit. With dazzling lilac eyes he looks me over, giving an approving hum, as though he didn't just scare the life out of me.
But I am not about to let him off the hook that easily.
