If there is one thing that I have learnt from my mother that I do not regret learning it is this:
Feelings are shitty, and they get you hurt.
Feelings, my mother had said to me as a child, especially joyful ones, are weak and pitiful, destructive to any sort of logical thinking and organisation of the mind. To be a strong Queen one day, you must dispel all these inconveniences, do not let yourself fall like the snivelling, whimpering commoners on the street who fall at the merest inconvenience. You must make yourself like iron, you must make yourself like our angels.
