"Since I could not replace Elowyn's soul entirely- her body simply would not let me, the Holy One ordered me to implant half my soul inside her body instead," Lyla grins with a half shrug, dismissing the weight of the Holy One's command as if it were merely someone asking her to do a simple favour, not take over someone's entire body.
Lowering my eyes, I keep my fingers gripped tightly against my palm, stabbing my nails into my flesh in an effort to prevent myself doing anything rash. It is a shame I have not mastered any of my powers yet, or don't have half a clue about the true extension of the Ethereum's capability because otherwise I might just have stripped her of all her dignity for speaking so nonchalantly. Why ever I decided to make her a demon in the first place is something that is beyond me. Perhaps if I get whatever was stolen away with the other half of my soul back, I might have a chance at figuring that out too.
