Chapter 1 - Prologue

Ava fluttered her eyes open and blinked a few times, trying to adjust her eyes to the bright surrounding. She shifted to lay on her right side as she noticed a pair of cerulean blue eyes staring back at her. "Good morning." he breathed softly as she mumbled a good morning back to him, her lips curled up into a smile. Wait. Who the hell?!

She sat up almost too quickly before falling back down, a wave of pain hitting everywhere on her body.

"You might want to slow down there, baby." he chuckled as she sat back up, slowly this time.

The cold air hit her as she quickly grabbed the duvet to warm herself. Her brown eyes trailed back to her almost bare body. Only a thin robe was covering her body. Where the hell are my clothes?

Her body froze and her heart stopped beating when she realized what was happening but she took a deep breath and decided to not go ahead of herself. She looked back at him as he sat up and leaned against the headboard, revealing his perfect delicious-looking abs. She realized she was looking at them for too long when a smirked formed on his lips.

"Like what you see?"

She looked away almost too quickly, mentally slapping herself for drooling over him. "Who are you? And why are you in my bed?"

"Don't tell me you forgot everything." he stared at the woman in front of him in amusement, licking his lips agonizingly slow. She almost slapped herself when she thought that was sexy as hell. A smirk crept its way up to his face as he slowly leaned closer to her. She froze, not knowing what she was supposed to do in that type of situation. His lips were right next to her ear as his hot breath hit her neck, sending shivers all over her body. He whispered the words she thought she wouldn't ever listen to in this life.

It felt like somebody turned on the internal heater in her body as her face turned from ghastly white to a shade of ripe strawberry. She was extremely flustered at what was happening at the moment. She could almost hear the sound of her brain working, trying to process what the unfamiliar but extremely attractive man in front of her just said to her. "What?" She scooted away as far as she could from him.

He leaned back and stared at her while licking his lips hungrily. She could hear her whole world crumble as she realized that her assumptions were real. "You're kidding, aren't you?" she chuckled nervously, trying hard to deny the information she just received. "I'm always serious." he grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer. She let out a small yelp at the close proximity and jumped away from him, almost falling off the bed.

He stared at her silently before looking away, his hand covering his mouth. Her eyebrows knitted as she tilted her head in confusion when his shoulders started to move up and down.

"Are you laughing?"

"I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore. That little shout got me." he spoke between laughs, refusing to look at her. "What is that laugh supposed to mean? Don't tell me..."

"Nothing happened."

If her face could get any redder, it sure did. "Then, what happened to my clothes?"

"Well, you were totally smashed last night and threw up everywhere. I can't just let you sleep in those stinky clothes, you know."

"What about this soreness all over my body?"

"Oh. You were running around everywhere, bumping into a lamp pole and scolding it for standing in your way." he shrugged before getting off the bed. All the blood on her face was drained out as she imagine how stupid she was in his eyes last night. How embarrassing. She looked away from him, hiding her face in embarrassment. "No need to be so embarrass. It was entertaining to watch. I don't think I've ever laughed that much in years." he let out a soft chuckle while ruffling his hair.

"There's some new clothes there. I need to go now. Don't go anywhere. I'll be back for you." he placed a kiss on Ava's forehead before heading into the bathroom. "Why?" she questioned as he looked back at her in confusion.

"Why? Are you trying to leave without returning the favour?" he let out a small scoff before making his way into the shower.

"Of course. I must be out of my mind to have my hopes up." Ava snorted at herself as her hand slowly went up to her forehead. She could still feel his soft lips against it.
