"Director Guan, you claimed that there will be no bugs in the game? Then what is with the new update?" A male reporter threw his question to the Director of Sky's China branch.
"It's part of our development team's negligence. We are focusing on the details of the game that make us careless about the basics of the game," Guan Mu Sheng pulled the mic closer to his mouth and replied with a smile, "Next!" He then pointed to another male reporter.
"Sky claimed that Olympus, the new and most advanced Super Computer is capable of patching unforeseen bugs by itself and operating the game smoothly without needing human's help. Then why Sky is doing manual patching? Is there an issue with Olympus?" Another question was thrown at Director Guan.
"There's no issue with Olympus. It still works perfectly and smoothly. We have to do manual patching because there is a fault in the program. As you should have known, a game is a program created by the development teams and Olympus is the one who operates the program we make. Olympus failed to detect the bug because of the fault of our program. Also, we do an hour patching because we want to re-check all the programs to make sure the same incident will not be repeated! The actual bug patch should have been done by now," Guan Mu Sheng responded smoothly as he pointed at the next reporter.
"Can you tell us what kind of bug it is? Also, can you disclose who discovers the bug?" Question after another.
"The level, it's about the level, but I can't tell you the details. As for who discovered the bug, I can't disclose the information unless the involved party agrees to it," Guan Mu Sheng replied without a pause, "Oh, we also reward the player who reported the bug to us. Thanks to this player for reporting the bug early or if many people exploit the bug, it will disrupt the balance of the game."
"Will Sky take the responsibility for the disruption? You sell the pod much more expensive than any other gaming pod before, but you fail to deliver the service you promised!" The next question was quite sharp.
Guan Mu Sheng knew that these reporters wanted to have a big sensation for them to use. They were hoping for him to make a blunder for their benefit.
"We will take the responsibility, aren't we patching the bug right now?" The middle-aged man smiled at the young reporter, "We deeply apologize for the disruption we have caused for the player. We will do our best to give our customers the best gaming experiences. As for the fair price we have set up, I think the players are the one who decides whether it is worth their bucks or not, not a reporter who never actually tried to dive in."
The next one to raise their hands was a female reporter. She wore rounded frame glasses and tied her hair into a ponytail. A reporter from a famous gaming entertainment that covered everything about games. From magazines, in-game news streaming, tv shows about the game, until the in-game business, Souls.
"I am sorry Director Guan, my question is not related to the current patch of the game, is it okay?" She was polite with her speech even though she knew it was just a formality. She was aware that Director Guan would not turn down her question. Sure enough, the representative of Sky's China branch nodded his head.
"It's related to a recent video that gets viral, about a streamer and his friends who bullied a player. They keep killing the same player eleven times until finally the player is forced to log out from the game. The video clip now has received worldwide attention. It has over nine million views as we talk now, What about your view on such gameplay? Isn't this bad for the bullying victim as it may affect his mental health? Will Sky set a regulation to prevent a similar case in the future?" The questions were totally not related to the issue as to why Sky held a press conference.
'Are they talking about me?' Shen thought to himself as he watched the live broadcast from his phone. He currently was in a taxi online, on the way to the hospital for a check-up. He had to go early to visit someone so he watched the press from the phone.
The camera viewed Director Guan. The middle-aged man was about to answer until he heard the driver's voice, "We have arrived, young man."
Shen closed the broadcast and opened the scanner on his phone to pay. He scanned the code and a pop-out notification appeared, asking for confirmation about the payment he was about to do. He checked the fee to make sure he was not getting scammed. The fee was reasonable, he then tapped yes and scanned his fingerprint to confirm the payment.
After that, he went out of the car and entered the hospital. As the best and biggest hospital in Shanghai, it had a massive lobby that would cause someone who visited the hospital for the first time at loss.
Shen visited the hospital once a week at least, so he was familiar with the hospital. He went straight to a long hallway that would leave him to another building behind the main building.
There was a big park that separated the main building and the building he intended to visit. Well-groomed trees and flowers decorated the park beautifully.
He walked on the paved path to the smaller building. This building was for the patients that needed a long treatment. The patients with serious cases stayed in this building. They were not allowed to leave the hospital as the doctor had to keep watching them.
Shen once stayed in this building for three and half months after his surgery. The devastating months for him. But there was a patient that helped him to pass that difficult time. He was about to visit her.
He entered the building, it was less crowded than the main building, clean and serene atmosphere. He turned left and waited for the elevator.
"Shen! Is that you?" While waiting for the elevator to come down, he heard a familiar voice. He turned around and saw a woman in a nurse's uniform. She was the head nurse in this building.
"You come~" the head nurse greeted with a slap on his back.
"Hello, Sister Zheng~" he greeted her with a smile. Zheng Ning, a married lady with two kids. She was more like his aunt as she was thirty-nine years old but insisted to be called sister by him.
"Are you going to visit, Eunha?" The head nurse asked with a smile as she eyed the cartoon bag in his right hand.
"Yes, and there's nothing for you inside. But I ordered Tiramisu for you. It will come in seven minutes," he checked the order on his phone and said.
"Kuhuhu, Eunha so lucky to have you," Zheng Ning pinched his cheeks, at the same time, the elevator door opened. He was saved thanks to this, "Don't forget to share it with the others or you will gain weight," Shen grinned at the head nurse who had a stunned look on her face as the door closed.
He went to the third floor, where Eunha's ward was. He directly went toward the ward and opened the sliding door. The room was not big but it was clean and comfortable.
Shen felt a breeze blow his face as he entered the room. His eyes immediately fell to the little girl who sat in front of the window while looking at the park.
