"What the hell happened here?" Luo Peng shouted.
At dawn, when he first learned that his contractor Matt Hugo is dead, he thought it is just a local power struggle. After some time he heard that the chambers that their family is looking for past two months have been found.
Luo Peng felt ecstatic after getting this news because this is the first project that his uncle and his great grandfather assigned him personally. He promptly phoned and announced to them this great news.
"Uncle Luo, we discovered them. We found the secret chambers" Luo Peng said passionately to Luo Guang.
"What? Really?" Luo Peng heard his uncle's voice from the other side of the phone.
"Yes Uncle. I just received the report. We found them in Yongkang mountains. South of Jinhua city" he said
"Excellent! Now that we found the hidden chambers, it is merely a matter of time before we can locate that rare herb. With that we can develop new cultivators for our family and become stronger than the other three" Luo Gang said laughing.
"You know Hugo is dead, right?" Luo Peng asked. Though it is from his uncle, he got the word. He still asked him.
"Yes. Our ancestor did it. That vermin tried to disclose some of our family's secrets but luckily we expected this and placed a hex on him. But there is still a complication" Luo Gang paused.
"What is it, uncle? Tell me?" Luo Peng asked
"Okay. You will know this anyway in future so there will be nothing wrong in telling you now. But remember, do not reveal this to anyone. There is a slight problem with the hex and that is, it will work only after one month of placing it. So we don't know if Hugo leaked any of our family dealings in Jinhua in the one month buffer time" Luo Gang said to Luo Peng.
"Do you want me to take care of it? Chen Xiu is good at this" Luo Peng immediately replied.
"Chen Xiu is good but we presume that there is someone from the prominent families of capital or other three big families involved in this. The special bureau also taken the investigation over, so we don't have any clue about who did the explosion at the factory. Anyway, I'm sending our finest to Jinhua secretly. So even if you see our men, don't reach out to them"
Luo Gang said. As Chen Xiu also served for Luo Gang, he knows about Chen Xiu's skill accurately but this situation demands an expert.
"And you don't involve yourself with this matter, too. Even a servant in the prominent families is a cultivator. So we should be careful" he went on.
"Understood, uncle" he replied and hung up the call.
"Chen Xiu" he called while putting his phone down. Immediately Chen Xiu came inside.
"Stop investigating about Hugo's case. Uncle said he will take of it from his side" he said
"Okay young master Peng. When do you want to leave to the Yongkang mountains?" Chen Xiu asked
"Hmmm! We'll go there in the evening" he said thinking for a second
But when the evening came Chen Xiu rushed into Luo Peng's suite room with a look of worry on his face.
"Young master Peng. Emergency. We should go to Yongkang right now" Chen Xiu said hurriedly. Luo Peng also understood the gravity of the situation just from the tensed look on Chen Xiu's face.
When he came down to the hotel there is already a car waiting for him. So he immediately got into it and the Land rover started moving followed by two more cars filled with his bodyguards.
"What happened?" Luo Peng asked in the car.
"Someone attacked our excavation camp. I just got a report that there are continuous shots fired near the camp" Chen Xiu said but before he continued, he got one more phone call. He instantly picked up the call and a deep frown appeared on his face.
"Also, a bomb went off in the camp. There is an intruder lurking there right now" Chen Xiu said hurriedly
"What is Luo Shan doing? He is the head of the security" Luo Peng yelled
"Luo Shan is dead and currently the complete camp is in chaos"
"Sh**! I'll inform uncle about this. Let's go there as fast as we can. I'm going to butcher the one who did this" Luo Peng said angrily. Just when he thought everything is going great, someone targeted Hugo and now there is an attack on their site.
Luo Peng can understand that this is a planned attack on his family and when he explained the situation to his uncle, he also thought the same. Luo Peng is confident that the guards present can take care of a single intruder, so he wanted to take his anger on that intruder.
But seeing what is before him in the camp, Luo Peng got aggravated. Where ever he turned his head there are corpses and when he focused on the faces, he realized they are all his family's men. He also saw that there are only few workers in the camp cleaning the corpses.
"Where is that old Professor? Where is he?" he shouted, startling the workers.
"He is in the archaeologist's tent" said one worker, trembling. Immediately he went to that tent and saw the professor writing something inside the tent.
"What happened here? Where is that intruder?" he shouted at the blind professor. Just then, Chen Xiu entered the tent and explained what happened before.
"A single guy did all this?" Luo Peng, who tries to look calm, said with his eyes wide open.
"Yes Mr. Peng. It is one guy" the bespectacled archaeologist told him what happened inside the cave.
"Professor, did he enter the chambers?" Chen Xiu asked instantly after hearing that the intruder entered the cave. To which the blind professor only nodded.
"Did he find the treasure?" he asked again
"It has only been ten minutes since we found the chambers and we didn't search most of them for the vault. Then I heard a person entering the chamber and thought that it is one of my students but that person didn't answer any of my questions. After a few minutes my students came inside and took me outside explaining the situation" the old professor didn't reveal his conversation with Wang Wei.
After that, the thin archaeologist told them everything since Wang Wei came out of the cave.
"He said that from today onward there will be a new enemy to the Luo family and this is just the beginning" that thin archaeologist said with a fear in his eyes.
"He is definitely a cultivator, young master Peng. We should inform Mr. Luo immediately" Chen Xiu whispered to Luo Peng.
But Luo Peng turned towards old professor students. "Did you see any box or anything that intruder is holding" he asked them.
"No. He had nothing in his hands. I can clearly remember it because he fought with the guards with his bare hands" the bespectacled archaeologist said. The other two also nodded, agreeing with him.
Luo Peng came out of the tent, followed by Chen Xiu.
"Either he didn't find the treasure or he must have had a storage dimension" Luo Peng said with a frown on his face.
"Impossible. The whole Luo family only has two dimension artifacts, and one of the prominent families present those" Chen Xiu said with shock hearing Luo Peng's guess.
"Any herb will lose its properties if it didn't store properly and if the intruder had nothing in his hands, then that means he must have not found the vault or he placed the herb in the storage dimension. Whatever the case is we have to take this seriously" Luo Peng said coldly.
"Whoever it is I'll kill him with my own hands"
