Chapter 9 - EPISODE 9: THE FIRST CITY AND A NEW ACQUAINTANCE

EPISODE 9: THE FIRST CITY AND A NEW ACQUAINTANCE

(Yūto has come very near the city. But before he goes in he stands and looks at the beautiful Japanese houses and the people who make their purchases. She smiles and says as she takes the first step to get inside)

OUTSIDE, INSIDE THE OLD JAPANESE CITY-DAY

YŪTO

This town seems very small. Xmm, I wonder if there is any demon here? Tsh, we'll find out soon enough. It's my first mission, I hope I don't die yet I haven't started, hehe. Nice.

(Yūto takes a long breath)

YŪTO

Let's go!

(While yūto walks through the streets of the city all the people look at him curiously. Others look at him with regret in their face and others with hatred while gossiping with each other)

MAN #1

After that event that had happened did not all demi people die?

MAN #2

I don't know, maybe he survived.

MAN #3

What's he doing here? We don't need it.

WOMAN #1

You think it's demon hunter?

WOMAN #2

I don't know, but it's coming through the woods.

WOMAN # 3

What a strange mask she wears, have you noticed her too?

MAN #4

Mmm, I don't trust him. He's up to something and he's not coming for nothing. I'm sure he'll want some trade after he saves us the worm.

GIRL #1

How sweet!

GIRL # 2

Look how handsome he is, I'll faint.

GILR # 3

And strong.

GIRL # 4

He is very handsome and those ears he has make him even sweeter and graceful.

OLD LADY

Poor kid. Joy in your age and youth, but what a pity to die young, you are like the cold waters.

(As he advances yūto bends his head and thinks by taking an exhalation)

YŪTO

How strange people are.

(Then, on the street in front of him he sees a man buying vegetables from a counter. He thinks while clenching his fist)

YŪTO

This is my chance.

(Approaching the man)

YŪTO

Excuse me for disturbing you, do you mind-

(But the man hurries away from him. Yūto is left looking at the man who leaves in a hurry and wondering in Wonder)

YŪTO

Did I do something I shouldn't have done? Mmm, it's okay, he might have business. I'll ask someone else then.

(So he goes to ask a woman but she too hurries away from him. This is done several times until a salesman behind his counter hears yūto's question. Yūto disappointed that no man speaks to him turns his head and puffes saying)

YŪTO

What's wrong with me? Damn, don't they understand that I want to help them?

(At that moment he sees the salesman beckoning to him with his hand to approach. As he approaches the seller says looking right-left)

OUTDOOR SPACE, IN FRONT OF THE SELLER'S COUNTER-DAY

SELLER

You want to know about the city demons, kid?

(Yūto has a serious look)

YŪTO

Yes, I want to-

(Before yūto has time to finish his sentence, the seller interrupts him by putting his hand in front of his mouth and then lowers it)

SELLER

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know. Well, I'll tell you one thing, young man. If you need information about demons, you'll go to that place at night.

(The seller takes out a small paper and paints the area that should go)

SELLER

That store is where all the hunters gather, basically the fake hunters, but it doesn't matter. This map might help you get there, I hope.

(Yūto asks the seller with Wonder in his gaze)

YŪTO

What do you mean, fake hunters?

SELLER

Tell me, hunter. Are you one of those people who would give their lives to save the weak? Or did you become a hunter for fame and title?

(Yūto then says with a smile on the lips)

YŪTO

I don't like titles. They fill my name, hechee. I like better to be called by my name which is yūto. I am a demon hunter who will try to protect and change all the facts that prevail so far. I will change the future and no one will be afraid anymore, we will all feel free. It's a promise.

(The seller then says with a smile on his lips while simultaneously closing his eyes)

SELLER

Mmm see, I'm proud of you brave boy.

(Yūto thanks the seller with a bow)

YŪTO

Thank you very much for your help.

SELLER

I didn't do a great thing.don't thank me. On the contrary, nothing I can do is enough to please you.

(Yūto starts walking and the seller yells)

SELLER

Take care, hunter! Show them what you got! Show them your gold, hunter!

(Yūto does not turn to look at the seller, all he does is keep walking. Seller says looking at yūto moving away)

SELLER

I hope he makes it. In that store, they're not gonna help him. Tsh, fake hunters, they only look at the fame and the money they can grab, but... but this kid I'm sure will make it, whoever stops him in the end will write a long story that will remain engraved and unaltered in time in our hearts. Go get 'em, go get' em, real hunter.

(At that moment a woman has come to shop at the seller's counter. The seller turns his head towards the customer and says politely)

SELLER

Please, can I help you with something, Ma'am?

(Yūto continues to walk through the streets of the city holding and looking at the map. There's plenty of people in town and lots of shops. So as he proceeds he looks right and left at the shops, he is impressed. After a while he thinks)

YŪTO

I've got plenty of time until tonight. Xmm, how do I take my time?

(And with these words we see him inside a Japanese shop eating. The table where he sits is filled with empty dishes while everyone there looks at him in amazement. One man tells another in whispers)

INSIDE THE JAPANESE SHOP-IT'S ALMOST AFTERNOON

Man

The way it's going, he's gonna eat us in a minute.

(After" a little " eating. Yūto goes out, thanks the shopkeeper and starts walking again with the map in his hand)

YŪTO

How nice it was, I'll come back.

(After a long walk, he sees a child sitting on the ground with his feet covering his face and crying. yūto approaches the child, sits with him down on his knees)

YŪTO

What's wrong, why are you crying? Can I help you?

(The child stops crying and wipes the tears from his face)

YŪTO

What's your name?

(The child says shyly)

AKATSUKI

My name is akatsuki, Sir.

YŪTO

Mmm, that's a pretty name you got.

(The child again shyly replies)

AKATSUKI

Thank you.

(It's dark and the streets are deserted)

YŪTO

Because you're alone here, it's dangerous.

(Child says Sad)

AKATSUKI

I lost my mom and I don't know where she went, please Lord help me.

(Yūto rests his hand upon the child's head and says with a smile)

YŪTO

No, don't worry, we'll find your mother together, okay?

(Yūto rises from the ground and looking at the child asks)

YŪTO

Do you know this neighborhood, akatsuki?

(AkatsUki shakes his head negatively. Yūto thinks)

YŪTO

Mmm I see clearly.

(Yūto looks up at the roofs of the houses and a memory comes to his mind. He sees himself at an early age chasing itachi, then itachi climbs onto the tiles of the houses and little yūto follows him. After this brief flashback he looks at akatsuki)

YŪTO

If we climb somewhere high, will you be able to identify where you live?

(Akatsuki looks up at the roofs of the houses and wonders)

AKATSUKI

Yeah, but it's too high. How do we get up there?

(Yūto kneels and turns his back on akatsuki beckoning him to climb on his back)

YŪTO

Nothing is impossible or impossible if you try hard. Get on my back akatsuki and hold on tight, we will climb together on the roofs. As long as you trust me, yeah?

(Akatsuki climbs on yūto's back and holds on firmly. Then yūto runs over a wall, jumps, lights his fire at his feet and manages to climb high on the roofs of Japanese houses. Akatsuki has his eyes closed and holds tight to yūto's clothes from fear)

OUTDOOR SPACE, ON THE ROOFS OF JAPANESE HOUSES IN THE CITY TO-NIGHT

YŪTO

We went up akatsuki, open your eyes now.

(Akatsuki opens his eyes and looks at the city from above he tells yūto with a smile on his lips)

AKATSUKI

Wow! It's amazing from up here, it's amazing, lol! I can see my house from here!

(Yūto lets him off his back and starts walking on the roofs of the houses. Then akatsuki sees the demon hunters symbol back on yūto's blouse and says admiringly)

AKATSUKI

Sir, are you demon hunter?!

(Yūto turns his head as he walks and looks at akatsuki)

YŪTO

Yes, I am, a few days ago I was perfected.

(Akatsuki runs to catch up with yūto. And after catching up with him and they walk together side by side he says with admiration)

AKATSUKI

Wow! You're too brave to be demon hunter. And I want to be one day, I'm aiming for it. But I still don't know any more technique I own, what technique do you own?

(So as he walks yūto tells akatsuki while also looking around)

YŪTO

Because I am a demi man I possess the technique of fire, but I still can not control it excellently.

(Akatsuki gets more excited by saying)

AKATSUKI

Really! You possess the technique of fire, fantastic improbable! It is the most difficult technically of all as I have read. I wish I could be like you one day.

(The smile fades from akatsuki's face and is filled with anxiety and fear)

But ... but I'm scared.

(Akatsuki shrugs a little. Yūto looks at him as he continues to walk)

YŪTO

What is it that scares you, akatsuki?

AKATSUKI

I'm afraid of demons. I don't know if I can cope with them, I don't know if I can cope with the conditions you hunters live in. And another thing is, I haven't discovered my technique yet. Maybe I'll never reveal it and stay a simple man. But, even if I do, the Demons are very fast and very good Warriors. They're definitely better than me and I'll be nothing in front of them.

(Then yūto says walking on the roofs of houses with a hidden smile on his lips)

YŪTO

At least I'll try.

(For a few minutes silence prevails, akatsuki looks at him while yūto continues to walk with a smile on his lips)

YŪTO

You're going to try to save all those people who need you, aren't you right? He will fight for the freedom you deserve, you and millions of other people regardless if you die or live. That's what we live for, to make our dreams come true and never give up, you know why? Do you know why akatsuki?!

(Yūto approaches akatsuki's ear and tells him in a cheerful whispering voice)

YŪTO

Because legends never give up.

(After these words he starts walking again and a few meters away from akatsuki stops and turns to face him)

YŪTO

A legend will fall but rise again. His fear and weakness will become the strength he needs to continue the long journey to the top of the mountain. In this way he will continue to walk and in the end... in the end he will come out a winner! So akatsuki, if you want to be called a legend try and believe in you first! After all the effort you put in something will come true, something will be gained! Just dare it! Dare the impossible and the improbable that applies to all the rest of the world! Give them courage and joy! Give them the freedom they seek! Nothing is impossible akatsuki! Nothing ha ha ha ha ha!

(Yūto smiles sweetly. Akatsuki sees behind yūto a fire of a beautiful purple color. His eyes flicker while at the same time he is surprised. Then akatsuki with a smile on his lips)

AKATSUKI

Really?!

YŪTO

And of course, making the decision to become demon hunter takes fortitude, bravery, faith and a pure soul. You are still a child, time will unlock all these virtues and fear will disappear from within you. It will grow up and you will think " what is my own soul compared to the millions of other souls that roam next to me?"

(Akatsuki courageously tells yūto)

AKATSUKI

Then! Then I promise you, I promise you that I will become a demon hunter too to follow you on this journey! I want to follow you, I want to learn from you!

(Yūto strokes akatsuki's hair saying again with a smile)

YŪTO

We have the same feelings.

AKATSUKI

Yes, sir.

(After several walks on the roofs of the houses. Akatsuki looks at yūto, while yuto continues to walk looking ahead. So akatsuki asks yūto shyly)

AKATSUKI

Lord-

(But before akatsuki finishes his sentence, yūto interrupts him by telling him)

YŪTO

You can call me brother if you want, my "mister" sits heavy, hehe. I'm not too old to be called that, hechee.

(Akatsuki agrees by saying to yūto)

AKATSUKI

Brother, I have a question. Do you think everyone can be a legend?

YŪTO

Of course he can, as long as he believes it. The world will test you, trip you up and laugh at your amazing dreams. But you, you must rise from the ground from which you weep, wipe away your golden tears, stretch one of your two legs backward, and bring forward your body. To close your eyes, to grasp with your left hand the dream and with your right hand to grasp the act. After you've done all that, look ahead and say, " I can! I CAN BECAUSE I AM A SIMPLE FRAGILE MAN BASED ON THE IMPOSSIBLE OF THE REST OF THE WORLD! I CAN BECAUSE, BECAUSE ... BECAUSE IT'S MY DREAM TO CHANGE THE WORLD AND I'M GOING TO CHANGE IT!"With the confidence you have you will jump forward like lightning and start running. People will see you pass them and they will wonder inside " " what gave you strength to go on, what was that beast that lifted you up?"but you will have disappeared from their sight. You'll run and cry because you made it. A legend is not called a successful man, but a loser who tries again and again and one day, one day he will succeed. He deserves to be called a legend and we can all be legends. No, no, we can't all be legends. WE'RE ALL LEGENDS!

(Akatsuki looks at him admiringly and ponders from within)

AKATSUKI

How brave he is. Maybe he, This different man is the legend he tells me? No! This is not just a legend, he thinks more about others than about the danger he puts in his life. He enjoys all the goods that life offers him and from what I can see he probably enjoys it too. It encourages every person and always is with a smile on his lips even though the life of a demon hunter is very short and can die at any moment. Mmm see, he doesn't deserve to be called a legend, but, BUT ... BUT hero! WITH HIS WORDS IT MAKES ME WANT TO KNOW HIM BETTER AND STICK TO HIM. THAT'S WHAT I'LL DO, ONE DAY I'LL FIND YOU AND FIND OUT, FIND OUT WHO YOU REALLY ARE! YES I WILL, THANK YOU BROTHER FOR GIVING ME THE STRENGTH TO GO ON! THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME SOMETHING I'LL NEVER FORGET! And this is that in this life ... we have to try as impossible or impossible as it sounds! Why, why. BECAUSE NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

(After a while the first demons appear. Akatsuki is afraid and hides behind yūto. So yūto stretches out his left hand in front of him to protect him, he says with a smile)

YŪTO

Don't worry, I won't let them hurt you.

(Then yūto takes the hand in front of akatsuki and lights his fire. The sound of the fire being kindled is heard. Then taking a step he jumps in front of the first demon and with his fist hits the demon in the abdomen. The Demon goes down with a big hole in his belly. Then akatsuki says with excitement and surprise)

AKATSUKI

WOW! Amazing!

(Demons attack and yūto turns sideways to fall on the tiles of the houses. As he is in the air, he hits with his two feet the heads of the two demons, causing them to be torn off and blood to begin to fly. At the same time another demon goes to kill him with his pointed claws. But yūto having fallen on the tiles puts strength in his hands and flings himself with force upon his face. With the power that yūto has, and from his feet the purple fire rushes up the demon's head. Yūto fights six to seven demons at once, the attacks the Demons make are incredibly fast that cannot be discernible to a man's eye. But yūto also in turn performs impressive repulses and attacks with the fire he has expected in his hands and feet. He repels all attacks of demons except for a few reason that demons have surrounded him and he can not go anywhere. Then one of the Demons leaps up the sky and with outstretched hand goes to pierce yūto. Yūto perceives him and puts his hands down and raises his legs upwards, then makes the fire cycle movement and cuts off the demon's head. Then, after the demon's head falls down and blood is spilled everywhere yūto cries)

YŪTO

FIRE CYCLE!

(And making a semicircle by taking fire from his feet he beheads the demons that are around him. In turn the heads of demons are hurled into the air one after another. After the battle is over, yūto looks at akatsuki. Akatsuki is left bone and after a while runs towards yūto)

AKATSUKI

WOW! Amazing! Amazing! You're unbelievable!

YŪTO

Eehehee thank you, so let's get on with it before more demons come.

As yūto and akatsuki walk behind them the Demons evaporate in the form of dust. After a little way they reach akatsuki's House. Yūto catches akatsuki and they descend from the tiles of the houses, walk a few meters and see a woman standing outside the door of her house and waiting with impatience and anxiety in her gaze. Akatsuki runs screaming at Mother)

AKATSUKI

Mom!

(Yūto also approaches while the mother hugs akatsuki)

MOTHER

You came back alive, thank God. I thought I'd never see you again in my life, you worried me so much.

(Akatsuki comes out of the mother's arms and looks at yūto)

AKATSUKI

Mom mom, my brother saved me, he's a demon hunter and he's an invincible warrior! You must meet him urgently!

(Mother looks at yūto and making a bow she says at the same time)

MOTHER

Thanks for bringing my akatsuki back, if it hadn't been for you I don't know what could have happened-

(But yūto interrupts the mother by saying)

YŪTO

I wasn't doing anything important, I was just doing my duty as a demon hunter, hehe. Please don't thank me.

(Then yūto gives akatsuki the locket that his mother had given him)

YŪTO

When you grow up come find me akatsuki, I will wait for you. But so I can tell you apart, take this locket. In every danger you face think that I am in this locket and I will never abandon you. Because I will never abandon you.

(Akatsuki hugs yūto while simultaneously telling him)

AKATSUKI

I'll never forget you, brother. Thank you for all you've done for me, and one day I'll pay you back with the same coin.

(After yūto lets akatsuki out of his arms, he turns his back to flee but akatsuki screams)

AKATSUKI

WAIT, YOU HAVEN'T TOLD ME YOUR NAME YET! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

(Yūto turns to akatsuki and says with a smile)

YŪTO

My name is YŪTO YAMADA!

AKATSUKI

Yuto, I'LL remember it!

(Yūto as he advances raises his hand in farewell to akatsuki, so does akatsuki)

AKATSUKI

Take care yūto, bon voyage!

(Meanwhile the mother continues to bow to yūto saying)

MOTHER

Thank you, thank you very much! Thank you, thank you! Take care!

(Akatsuki says one last sentence to yūto before straying too far)

AKATSUKI

YŪTO YAMADA! YOU'RE A HERO!

(From yūto's eye rolls a tear as he does not turn back to face akatsuki. All he does is step forward saying with a smile on his lips and the tear falling from his cheek to the ground)

YŪTO

Thank you, thank you for believing in me. That was the strength I needed, to know that people from all the cities I visit have faith in me and one day... one day I will make you feel truly free. This day won't be long in coming, I promise you.

(So yūto walks towards the restaurant. When he gets there he goes in. The shop is noisy and voices are heard but when yuto enters "magically" creates a complete silence. The men look at him curiously and with hatred as he advances toward a distant table to sit down. After a while comes the waiter)

OUTSIDE, INSIDE THE JAPANESE SHOP OF THE CITY-NIGHT

Waiter

What will you have?

(Yūto orders to eat, so the waiter leaves saying)

Waiter

Mmm, yes, sir, as you wish.

(Then, after a few seconds comes the food and the waiter tells yūto)

Waiter

Bon Appetit, I hope you like our food.

(The waiter leaves, and yūto begins to eat. While he eats like a wild animal three men approach him asking him ironically)

MAN #1

What are you looking for in this town, kid?

(Man #2 whispers to Man #1)

MAN #2

It's demi man. It is the last of its kind as I have heard from the rumors circulating in the city.

(Guy's look #1 changes, smiles slyly and sits across from yūto)

MAN #1

Does something seem to be bringing you to our lairs, kid?

(So yūto after having drunk the last sip of the "Japanese saké, 酒" hits the glass on the table and with lowered head so as not to see his face)

YŪTO

I'm looking for Demons, do you know where I can find them?

(Men laugh)

MAN #3

Lol, a little kid looking for demons, it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!

(Yūto looks at them curiously unable to understand them)

MAN #1

I suggest you go, kid. Chasing demons isn't a game, no matter what we do.

(Yūto clenches his fist)

MAN #2

Yeah, that's our job! Who do you think you are?! We won't let you steal the reputation and the money that the stupid world gives us to protect them lol!

(At the word "protect" is ironic Man # 2)

MAN #3

See, kid, sooner or later, if you keep messing with these things, you're gonna die. So it's best to leave while you can.

(At these words the men rise and leave yūto's table laughing. Yūto continues to sit at the table while simultaneously pondering. The moment he thinks the shopkeeper speaks to him. He's a man with a mustache and short hair. Then yūto raises his head and looks at the shopkeeper)

YŪTO

What is it?

SHOPKEEPER

You didn't hear me, boy. Good grief. Anyway, can I sit next to you?

YŪTO

Yes, yes, yes, of course you can.

(The shopkeeper sits down at the table with yūto, and with him brings two more glasses of the Japanese drink saké (酒). So he offers one of the two glasses to yūto saying)

SHOPKEEPER

Don't listen to those idiots, son. All they do is scare my clients, echehee. They're cowards and useless. let them die. it's better if we get away with it.

(And he drinks a sip of saké (酒), but yūto has questions and sits pensive)

SHOPKEEPER

That's a beautiful mask on the side of your head, kid. Where did he get it?

(Asks the shopkeeper curiously)

YŪTO

It was given to me by my teachers when I accomplished the tasks they set me. So after I was perfected I was rewarded with this as a sign of a perfected demon hunter.

SHOPKEEPER

So you're demon hunter, right?

YŪTO

Yes, I am.

(The shopkeeper smiles)

SHOPKEEPER

I knew it, hechee. But, are demon hunters not moving in groups? Why are you alone, kid?

YŪTO

I didn't happen to find a demon hunter on my way. But I'm not going to stop, loneliness won't stop me. I fight for the people, I want to save and help with or without another ally by my side.

SHOPKEEPER

You must be very brave to fight alone, young man, but…

SHOPKEEPER

But aside from the bravery of running through the woods and jumping from roof to roof in the cities you visit, it's not a very good idea to go around alone. Demons are based on the fact that the demon hunters themselves are not united with each other, as a result of which they hunt the weak and the one who does not have someone next to him to rely on in the difficult moment.

(The shopkeeper looks at his glass and thinks by saying to yūto)

SHOPKEEPER

If it were not for the differences between the techniques, all demon hunters would be united, tsk.

(With nerves he grabs the glass with the saké (酒) and drinks a sip. Yūto with Wonder in his gaze asks)

YŪTO

What do you mean by that, man?

SHOPKEEPER

Where Are you and demon hunter likely to know about the great battle? The battle between demons and humans. In this life, kid, there are five techniques, unfortunately I don't know them either, so I can't give you the information you need. But all I know is that after the great battle the hunters scattered, disbanded and began to fight and hate about which technique is the best against demons. On this meaningless occasion the Battle of death arose.

(Yūto surprised and with Wonder in his gaze asks)

YŪTO

The Battle of death?

(The shopkeeper says sipping another sip of saké (酒))

SHOPKEEPER

Yes, the Battle of death. Imagine the same hunters killing the hunters with a different technique from them. Imagine brothers with a different technique killing each other, it's horrible.

(Then the shopkeeper says in a hushed voice and with tears in his eyes)

SHOPKEEPER

After the Battle of death all demon hunters vowed never again to seek help from other hunters with different techniques from them. But each fighting to save people who don't own a technique.

(Yūto riveted by the horrible story asks)

YŪTO

And if you work with hunters who have a different technique than, what, what happens?

(The shopkeeper smiles while the eyes from which his tears come out can not be seen because he has bent his head down a little)

SHOPKEEPER

What's gonna happen huh? Heehehee.

(He raises his head towards yūto and says)

SHOPKEEPER

Now nothing, a lot of people say it's a legend, a story with instructive content to teach new generations. But at that time they would kill you as they did with…

(Pictures appear in the mind of the shopkeeper. We see pictures: two boys ' heads on two high stakes)

YŪTO

Like they did with who, tell me?

(The shopkeeper with his head down and tears running down his cheeks while clenching his fists, says)

SHOPKEEPER

With-with-with my two, with my two sons!

(Yūto does not speak, he is stunned)

YŪTO

My condolences, didn't I know your sons were demon hunters too?

(The shopkeeper raises his head and says wiping away his tears)

SHOPKEEPER

Yes, yes they were two of the best demon hunters as I read in the letters they wrote me. They were afraid of nothing and no one, all they wanted was to change this miserable world for the better. In their last letter they even wrote me that it was the big day. Let me tell you.

THE FLASHBACK BEGINS:

(The shopkeeper reads inside his shop the last letter of the two children)

INSIDE THE SHOPKEEPER'S SHOP TO-NIGHT

LETTER

Father, today is the big day. In the forest we met many worthy demon hunters from all parts of Japan. Other demon hunters possess one of the five techniques and others all they possess is loyalty and bravery. We are hiding in the woods at the moment I write to you, we are not all together. We split up into groups and my little brother was put with demi people. They are people with Fox ears as they hold the fire. I bet they'll be teaching him that fantastic technique right now, the lucky heehee. The battle will begin in a few hours when it gets dark for good. I promise you I won't let anyone kill us, and we'll come back alive, and when we get back, we'll all work together in the store, okay? I just want you to be patient and positive, I believed in us because that's exactly what our strength is, no technique is as strong as your faith. Mother would be proud of us if she were still alive, so I wish you would be just as proud of us. I hear voices, it's probably time to say goodbye and once again I promise you that we will come victorious. Get the shop ready, yeah?

With love your two sons (did not have time to finish the letter and over the name has been smudged)

RETURN FROM THE FLASHBACK OF THE PAST:

SHOPKEEPER

Although they won the battle they lost the fame and riches they wanted to acquire the rest of the worms.

(Yūto says with grease on his face)

YŪTO

Once again I'm sorry. I am very sorry for the unjust loss of your two sons, I can say sadly that I understand you better than anyone. I understand the horror and the misery because I experienced it myself. I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry!

(The shopkeeper then says with a smile on his lips and a few tears in his eyes)

SHOPKEEPER

It's not your fault, son. As long as you don't become like them. Don't fight for fame or money, it'll make me gold the poison that's coursing through my veins. Unfortunately, no person will help without asking for the appropriate reward, so society is made that we can not change it.

(Yūto jumps up and says courageously)

YŪTO

No! No, I'm not going to be like them! I want to save people even if I have to give my very soul to accomplish my purpose! It doesn't matter to me the money or the reputation! Unfortunately, they took something much more valuable from me, which can't be replaced by anyone or anything. Just as you lost your sons, I lost my sister and mother! This can only be repaid in one way. By the destruction of demons!

(The shopkeeper smiles)

SHOPKEEPER

It's good to see a real demon hunter in front of me. You're real. you know why, son? Because you've figured out the meaning of being trained to be a demon hunter. You have found the path in the black that you want to travel and I wish from the bottom of my heart other demon hunter with the same ideas as yours to follow you to victory and Sunrise. Because in the end you'll come back a winner, Remember that, son. And when you come again to this humble city for you do not be ashamed to come to celebrate your victory with a glass of saké (酒), on me always hehe.

YŪTO

Thank you, thank you very much for your kind words. With all that you say encouraging me to move on, that's the biggest help for me.

(The shopkeeper looks out and says)

SHOPKEEPER

It's late, kid.I gotta close the store. Do you have a place to sleep for today?

(Yūto and the shopkeeper come out of the shop)

OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE THE SHOPKEEPER'S SHOP TO-NIGHT

YŪTO

No, but I'll find a place to rest somewhere.

(The shopkeeper points with his finger the road that yūto should follow)

SHOPKEEPER

There, you will follow this road and it will take you to a home where you can rest. You'll find it easy.

(Yūto thanks the shopkeeper with a bow and walks away. From afar she asks him something he has forgotten)

YŪTO

Which way will I take to the next town?

(The shopkeeper shows him the way through the forest and says)

SHOPKEEPER

This road through the forest you will take, and it will take you to the next town. It'll take you about a day or two to walk.

(Yūto bids farewell to the shopkeeper by raising his hand)

YŪTO

Thank you very much. good night.

(And he advances towards the hotel. At night yūto walks in the deserted city while at the same time the person with the orange hair follows him everywhere. After an hour he sees an old Japanese house and a sign reading " guest house")

YŪTO

I guess this is the place he meant, (yawning) let's go to rest.I feel my powers are slowly leaving me.

(He goes in but for his bad luck he sees no one to serve him)

INSIDE THE HOSTEL-NIGHT:

YŪTO

Yeah?! Hello?hello?

(Out of nowhere appears an old woman)

OLD LADY

Hello, Young Man. How can I be of use to you?

YŪTO

Hello, do you have an empty room just for this night?

(The old woman turns her back, and as she searches for the keys she says)

OLD LADY

Let me look, young man.

(The old woman sees a key, takes it and turns to yūto)

OLD LADY

I found an empty room, that should fit you.

(He then gives the key to yūto's hand, yūto says with a smile on his lips grasping the key)

YŪTO

Thank.

(The old woman says, too, clasping her hands and with a smile.)

OLD LADY

Have a good rest, my boy.

(Yūto advances towards his room, drags the door to get in. Before entering the room he faces a demon with three hands and red his irises, the (White of the eye) is black in color, he has three kenji in his eyes. Kenji only have demons fighting for their lives and their families, for a better tomorrow and not for meat and blood. While not omitted and the pointed nails it has. Straight yūto with sweat on his face and Fear opens the palm from his hand lighting the purple fire. The demon disappears, it's a mirage, I guess.)

YŪTO

It was a mirage.

(Takes a deep breath gripping his heart)

YŪTO

Maybe I'm too tired to see things. I better get some rest before I lose my mind.

(And he wipes his forehead from the sweat, then lies down in the washitsu (和室) of the room, covers himself with futon (布団) and closes his eyes. The Demon again appears on the ceiling of the room and starts walking towards yūto as he has not come down from the ceiling yet. Then while he is directly above yūto with his pointed claws he slowly approaches yūto's head. Yūto opens his eyes suddenly and avoids the onslaught of the demon. The demon starts performing attacks against him to kill him. In the end, after yūto avoids all attacks of the demon he finds the opportunity and with open palms of both hands beats him on the thorax. Behind the Demon comes an air of the pressure and rapidity of yūto's blow. The demon soars and sticks to the wall behind him. Then he smiles with a sly smile and without saying anything disappears. As the Demon is invisible and begins to scratch yūto, yūto with groans of pain tries to defend himself but in vain. Then the demon with his claws strikes him on the head breaking the mask Hannya (般若). Yūto falls to the floor washitsu (和室) of the room and holding the pieces of mask Hannya (般若) says while the demon with the attacks he makes tears his shirt and creates scratches all over his face and back)

YŪTO

I can't see him, what do I do? What do I do? How can I face an invisible opponent?

(Suddenly in yūto's mind comes a flashback from the past, the first lesson taught him by the old man)

THE FLASHBACK BEGINS:

OLD MAN

Mmm very well, but you lack balance.

OLD MAN

Balance in how you move but also in how you react in that moment on the battle. "Don't think, only act!"Those were the words my master always used to say to me; now I say them to you.

OLD MAN

Think, meditate. "What is your greatest fear?". "In what past events have you erred?". "Apologize for that." "What things are you grieved for?". "Face the truth, the lies and distinguish them". "Face insight and illusion." "What attracts you to this world?"Then and only then will you become the master of your craft. But be careful! Your chakras may open within a day, but immediately afterwards they may close again. The facts change as do the answers to these questions. Every day a special answer, today what is it?

(In yūto's mind comes the amazing " dance" that he danced when he faced the teacher without falling the stones on the ground, but also the amazing poses he was taking)

END OF RETROSPECT:

(Yūto whispers)

YŪTO

That's it! Don't think, just act. Think and meditate, answer with courage and truth, just let them roll.

(yūto without seeing his face which is hidden in the shadow rises slowly and answers the demon)

YŪTO

Right! I can't see you, but I'll make it! I'm gonna make it because ... because I'm a demon hunter!

(At these words yūto girds himself with the purple fire and closes his eyes. The Demon is vanishing with incredible speed from the ceiling of the room towards yūto. Yūto hears him and takes an attack stance and twists his leg at the last moment. In this incredible way he turns to the right from where the Demon comes and starts to repel every attack with incredible speed. The demon appears trying to kill yūto, fails to succeed and again appears. Yūto fights blindly, can't figure out where the Demon is coming from, but what gives him the power is the fire dance move. It is a peaceful dance that helps you avoid the many and fast blows of your opponents. We will see this move in the next few seasons. In a moment the demon turns into invisible, climbs to the ceiling of the room and with speed goes to pierce yūto with his claws. At the same time yūto makes a little leap and cuts him in two. We see picture: one of his two hands is surrounded by fire and the other in a corner penetrating the demon. He looks like he's holding something, but he can't see it. {Spoiler: he holds the katana he was thinking} the demon falls to the ground cut in two and from invisible he becomes visible, spits blood from his mouth while making sounds of death. Katana disappears, and yūto faints and falls to the floor)

INDOORS, IN THE GUEST ROOM-DAY

(Morning has come, and yūto with a great yawn gets up, opening the window of his room. Then as he looks at the sun he thinks of yesterday's battle and wonders how he cut the demon. Then he puts his hand in his pocket and takes out the broken pieces of his mask, looks at them and clenches them in his fist. After a few minutes he leaves the room and goes downstairs to hand over the room key. He gives the key to the Old Lady saying)

YŪTO

Thank you very much for your hospitality.

(The Old Lady takes the key and says with a smile)

OLD LADY

I hope your stay was pleasant, son.

(Yūto laughs awkwardly)

YŪTO

It was ... it was an unforgettable experience. Thank you very much, goodbye.

(Yūto goes out of the house and takes the road to the next town. Pondering, wondering)

YŪTO

How did I manage to cut the demon in half when I don't have a sword? Hmm mysterious thing.

(At the same time aiko continues to watch him. After yūto has entered the forest, he sits down on the ground and takes off the broken pieces of his mask, makes a small puddle and buries the pieces. Having finished with the burying of the pieces he joins the palms of his hands together and with closed eyes says as if praying)

YŪTO

Sorry, sorry for not protecting one of the most precious things I've ever had in my life. I'm sorry I can't protect your gift, teacher.

(But a voice whispers to him)

OLD LADY

Never mind yūto my son. Do the best you can, we are with you and we will support you until the end.

(Yūto looks right-left to see if anyone is around him. There is no one, and with a smile he again joins his palms, and closing his eyes once more says:)

YŪTO

Thank you very much. I will do the best I can, I will do what I was trained for, to protect and regenerate all Japan's mercies of hope and joy.

(Yūto smiles sweetly, rises from the ground and begins his long journey through the forest)
