Even though I expected this from the very beginning, it felt so different hearing him say it out loud.
"Don't worry my child we already have it all figured out." My mom started and I couldn't help but stop my sulking to listen to her. "The late king of the blood wolves and his son owe me a favour and their present King has accepted to come and take you till the festival and gifting period is over, so you'll be safe there in blood territory until it's all over and the moon goddess cannot lay hands on you." I couldn't help but stare in awe at my father's suggestion, we're supposed to be scared of and run away from the blood wolves and here he is, sending me to their territory for safety, even being gifted by the moon goddess didn't sound so scary anymore. They'll kill me there and feed on my flesh and blood regardless of being wolf like them, they're merciless beings and I'm very clumsy, no, there has to be another way.
"I know what you're thinking and no they won't kill you, instead they'll treat you with respect like a guest which is exactly what you're gonna be to them. Adrien already promised to protect you and no one can harm the king's guest so you're in safe hands.
Adrien...beautiful name for a beast of such calibre.
Its not like I have much of a choice, either way I won't get my way and dying sounded much better than being a lone wolf all my life.
"Alright, when do we leave?" I finally asked.
"Early tomorrow morning, you can go say goodbye to Beth tonight, sleep over or something and come home before six tomorrow morning so you can be on your way with Adrien, he doesn't like to be kept waiting." Dad said the last part with a slight shiver which made me wonder to what extent this man's anger could reach.
"Why do we leave so early?" I asked looking directly into his eyes. "Because the gift giving would begin by 7am tomorrow, so be ready." Dad answered
Right now all I want to do is cry, the home I've known all my life, my people, my friends and even the family I've known all my life; I'm going to leave all because of an entity I've worshipped all my life. Fuck the moon goddess, right now I really wish I wasn't a moonwolf but I have absolutely no choice, I have to leave for my future and my freedom.
"Alright I'll go pack my stuff and go see Beth before tomorrow morning. Thank you." I said giving them both a big hug
After packing around 8pm, I left the house and was off to Beth's. On getting there, I climbed into there room via the window like I always do.
"What're you doing here? You didn't tell me you were coming." I couldn't even find it in me to respond to her questions, I'm guessing she noticed that's why she asked "What's wrong?"
I told her everything excluding who I was going to stay with because if I knew Beth, which I did, I'll know that shell get a mini panick attack if she finds out that I'm going to blood territory to stay with their king as a guest. Either that or she'll be so happy and imagine out babies together which isn't something I'd like to witness either.
"So you're leaving in the morning." Was the first statement she was able to put together. I know that this is hard for her but I doubt I have another choice, I don't want to leave but I can't stay. For my sake and for the sake of whomever is meant to be my mate.
"Yeah." I said not really sure how she was going to react.
"I understand though, you have to leave but your mate better be worth leaving me." She said almost laughing which gave me a weird sense of relief because see wasn't crying and we could spend the night in joy and not in tears.
We finally fell asleep around 4am and when I woke up, it was 6:45am.
"Shit." I said as I got up from the bed considering there's no time to jump the window I used the stairs. Reaching downstairs I wished her parents a good morning and changed into my wolf for better speed. When I reached the front door, I changed back and put my clothes back on. Thank goodness I've already packed all my stuff.
Getting inside I was met by the disapproving faces of both my parents.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry, I overslept. I'll go get my stuff." I hurried away without letting them reply.
