blood and rain mixed together, the heavy drips of water landing on the ground was covered by the ringing in the girl's ears as she stared at the grey sky.
the crimson mass being diluted by the falling water surrounded her as it pooled out from the large, angry gash in her abdomin.
the battle around her continued, not that she noticed. nor would she notice when her comrades erupted into spikes made of their own blood, or were struck down with lightning.
no, none of that mattered to her anymore. not now. not when everything was ripped from her just as she was so close to attaining everything she wanted.
the subtle cherry blossom colour in her eyes flickered for a moment as she blinked, reflecting on her seemingly meaningless existence.
but that's not for this story, or any story really. no, not at all.
for the gods are as kind as they are cruel.
she'll awaken again.
not tomorrow, or the next day. if fact it will be several millennia before her eyes see the light once more.
and then, everything will change.
