2 hours later, they arrive at the president's mansion. There are guards everywhere and it's really hard to get in, so they wait at the gate that is actually a few miles away from the actual mansion. However, it would not be long until they would be approved to be let in.
"The president himself has sent us to fetch ms. Rosetti." Says one of the guardsmen.
"Huh, what? He sent you to get me personally? Why? Does he know me? He knew I was coming? How?" said Geneva with a confused tone.
Just then everyone realized Geneva actually heard what the guardsmen said to her, but how? Is the question...
"Geneva? Did you actually hear what the guard said just now?" Says Rinai with an even more confused tone of voice than Geneva's own.
"Wait, is your hearing back?' Said Lucas whose eyes showed his confusion.
"Hahahaha yeah, I think. I mean I heard what he said, so, it must be. Okay but why as soon as I got here?" Geneva truly questioned and couldn't answer, as well as no one beside her.
"Just follow us if you will, Mr. President has been waiting for you to arrive, Ms.Rosetti." said the guardsmen with authority in his voice.
Geneva, Rinai and Lucas all followed behind the guard with cautious and concerned looks on each of their faces. It wouldn't be long until they would arrive at the president's mansion, once they arrived and were directed to where his office was located, they waited outside of his office.
Suddenly, a red colored man with no features whatsoever opened the President's door, but greeted the trio with no words.
"M-Mr. president??" Lucas said with a bit of fear in his voice accompanied by confusion.
"Ah, Aithne, let just Ms. Rosetti in, the others will have to wait outside." The trio heard loudly almost like the voice was inside their heads.
Aithne, the large red guard allowed Geneva entrance into the office whilst when Lucas and Rinai tried to enter, he'd block them.
Geneva and Rinai didn't think much of it. Despite Rinai's disappointment that she couldn't talk to the President, Lucas found the President's solicitous attitude towards Geneva… odd at best.
"Please, shut the door, Aithne, I have much to discuss with Ms. Rosetti here." Said the president with a calmer and lower voice than earlier.
"I came here because I lost my hearing, do you know anything about that?" Geneva said as she turned around to see the president's face, he had golden skin, wore a pristine and blinding white suit, with grey hair despite his young age.
"Ah, straight to the point, I see, but I don't get it." said the president still with calmness in his voice.
"No, The day I lost my hearing, there was this carriage and a man got out of it who works for you!" Geneva informed him assertively.
"What?" The President noised, you could hear honest confusion in the way he said it.
"I was leaving to get out of this godforsaken city but I was stopped in my tracks suddenly by a man in all black who obviously had your carriage. I figured what happened to me was not normal and I looked for the possibilities, and when I found none, all that was left was to look for you." Said Geneva who got louder the more she explained the three-ring circus.
"You say that you lost your hearing but I don't see what it has to do with me, I can't control such a mess." The President replied, feeling discomfiture.
"You must think i'm stupid, when I arrived here, your guardsmen said you sent them to fetch me personally and you were awaiting my arrival, so do you know me?" Geneva asked...
"Ah, and you're also quite studious, you caught that?" The President asked rhetorically.
"I always do!" Geneva still answered with a smug tone.
"I know nothing about your hearing but I had been awaiting your arrival. As the president I know everyone and everything that goes on in my country. I had heard about your hearing loss because I know what happens to my citizens and their lives and if strange phenomena happens I hear first as well, it has nothing to do with me, or me knowing you. It isn't logical that I could even do such a thing, is it. Despite the weird occurrences around the cities, I control none of that mess like how I can't control your hearing." The President said self-confidently.
"You, I absolutely have no words for you." Geneva stuttered, looking for more reasons for her being there.
"Ms. rosetti? While I have you here, I wanna tell you a story, as someone who is young and successful like myself and also yourself as well."
"A story? Why would I wanna hear a story? If you've got some advice, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get advice from the president, not too many people can say they have."
"When I was younger, around 13 to 14, there was this girl. I was the shy kid that everyone thought would end up in jail, a bit of a weird kid you know? Until this girl showed me I wasn't so weird and that my problems weren't that bad, but little did I know, she had too many problems of her own at her home. She went insane at 18, ran away from the home that troubled her so greatly, and disappeared. She vanished and I never saw her again, then I met someone new, someone like her."The president said.
"And Just like that and you didn't even look for her?" Geneva questioned the President.
"Like I said, I found someone new, but worse, think about the moral of the story on your way out, lady." The President replied.
"NO, I'm not satisfied with that story, I've been solving problems for too long, why don't you just tell me the morals while I'm here. What was the point of telling me this story??" Geneva questioned with a more serious attitude as she slammed her hands on his desk, basically insisting on staying and finishing their talk.
The President long sighed with an Irked look as he continued on with a bit more of the story, that Geneva still isn't too sure has a purpose.
"People come and go. The memory is stuck even when the other person doesn't remember. Have you ever remembered something that you're not even sure happened to you before? This girl is around our age but she doesn't remember me, but i'll remember her regardless. The issue is that she can't truly remember no matter what.
"Is it she doesn't remember or she can't remember all together?" Geneva asked as she listened closely to the President's words.
"Both but the memory part is not important anyway, back in those days she didn't get to know me very well. No one truly got to know me, very well, but if someone should know me, I would choose only her to get to know me deeply. Life's a game and there are three rules, I don't follow those rules as the president. This Life's a stratagem and we're all waiting for the Strategist to say we're finished. However, that's not the moral of the story, that you'll still have to figure out on your own." Said the President as if he were entertained by her confusion.
Geneva couldn't accept how he wouldn't be straightforward but she didn't have time to solve his conundrum, she's retired, she's cured now somehow and she's going to have fun… find her calling. Geneva leaves The president's office and she returns to her friends.
