I don't know why a lot has changed after that conversation. I feel less angry about what Liam decided for me. I accepted it with the understanding that he did think of what was good for me. And he started to talk without being sarcastic, and it felt like we could start to be partners. He's been evaluating my training these past few weeks, willing to be a training partner, and things are much easier now.
"Just call me by name, it's easier than you calling me Master. It feels so official."
"Calling names?"
"Okay, Liam." He smiled a little. He's been smiling a lot lately. This story about the twin dragon riders who might pair up made me think he probably thought we should become close to each other, at least as partners who understand each other. I don't know, maybe as he said, leave it to fate. The important thing is that my training is going well and I've been accepted by my friends in the main legion even though I've only been practising for two months.
