We arrived by vortex to a wide hill where the Ganden Monastery stands, and we greeted stunning landscapes. Garden which means joy and when you see it from above this height will indeed make you happy.
The monastery stands on a semicircular hill that looks like it forms a natural amphitheatre with a valley surrounding it. Located on Mount Wangbur, Dagze at an altitude of 4,300m above sea level.
The cool September air greeted us high up. Fortunately, no rain. Rainfall is usually high at the end of the year. Norbu and Jinpa had already prepared raincoats in our backpacks for us if we had to go through the rain this morning.
It is a Buddhist university, the Gelug sect, one of the four schools of Buddhism in Tibet. We saw students studying under thick coats while reading because it was cold here.
