"What about Mom, Alexa!"
"She ... she ... died protecting Dad from Jacob's attack."
Alexander stared at me as if he couldn't believe what I said before he staggered. I caught him.
"Alex!" I was afraid that when he fell, he would injure his back again.
"You said Mother died?" I nod.
"You need to sit down first." I lead him to sit in the pavilion.
"How can Mother..." A tear rolled down.
"Why would Jacob do that? Mother already considers his family. Why would he have the heart?"
His hands clenched into fists while Alex tried not to sob.
"That bastard! Why! I will kill him over and over again until he regrets ever being alive."
I don't know what to say, and I can only hug him. Half of it, I still feel guilty for not being able to warn them.
"When did it happen? Where's a dad now?" Alex wiped his tears.
