"Ken dear, you must obey Daddy. Mother is going to beat up the bad guys" I hugged Ken one last time before leaving.
"Yes Mom, Ken will be a smart boy. Please, come home soon. Mom can teach me swordsmanship when I get home." The 7-year-old boy didn't know his mother was going to risk his life. He knows I'm going to fight the baddies as usual, and his mother always wins, will come back later.
"Mom promises to teach you. You know Dad's great too, you can learn from Daddy too. And you have to eat a lot, when it's time to sleep you should sleep, don't bother other people" Ken nodded enthusiastically.
"Mom is better!" I smile. My eyes heat up. I don't know what happened in front of him, but I'm grateful to have Daniel and little Ken in my life.
"Okay, whatever you say" I give Kendrick a high five. The boy smiled cheerfully.
