Dongfang Jin's confession surprised Shi Xian somewhat.
She silently stared at him for a long while before her eyes slowly dipped, and she took a deep breath, finally saying, "Can I refuse?"
"No!"
As Dongfang Jin responded, he also knew her words clearly carried a hint of conciliation. He smiled immediately, hugging her tightly, "Shi Xian, rest assured, I will protect you well and not let anyone bully you again."
"Don't speak too soon, let's go, we're almost there. Don't come over these next few days; I want some time alone to think things through."
Shi Xian finally spoke with diminished enthusiasm.
"No, I will still come over, but I won't bother you. Now that you have been transferred to the office at the military district, you should no longer be under such strict constraints. Take a leave of absence, rest for a few days. In a couple of days, I will take you for a comprehensive check-up, okay?"
Dongfang Jin's tone was gentle too; he did not want to press her too much.
